    :D

Scott, you don't know why I buy all audio. I get my Dad's truck. I am spending everything on Audio before 2004. After 2004 it will come to a hault and I will save up money to fix up my Dad's truck. I plan to run 2 jobs all year long. Don't run a mouth that don't know how to wipe the s*** that you want the toilet paper to work on. and By the way, I catch your sarcasim and I hope you catch mine - and I am not in dept or anything, more people owe me money than I owe to other people. Considering I owe 0. I pay for all my stuff in cash.

RS & ATC, Do you not think that I know my speakers would sound better in a larger room on stands, ear level perfectly matched up? If you don't think that I don't know this basic fact then you are entirely wrong. If I wanted to share my speakers with my family and put them in the Den I would, but my Sister has a long history of trashing things. I know putting speakers in a corner isn't the end of all solutions, yet I find this the best solution in my room. You guys also don't understand that I am going by the term of buy it now live it later. Buy what I want now, live with it later. I am buying what I want when I don't have bills so I can enjoy it later on in life so I'm not like most people that drain their heads in a sink and wine to a bank for a loan. I don't want this mess in my life. All I need are tower speakers and a larger center and I have found my sound. Thank you and Goodnight. No 9 year old girl here RS just a MX that you just don't understand.
Damn you all, damn you all to hell.......

Ya - checked those out already.
Still they are $380 shipped ebay vs $215 shipped from a certified dealer.

My sentiments exactly... Plus this guy is one strange character, I have contacted him before about local pick up (before he had his policy stated) and he was very evasive.. Bad feelings about this one.

    Hey MX,

I think its cool that you want LSi's bud. You've been probably reading about all this LSi fuss and now want to experience it for yourself. That's basically how I stumbled across them. Before I went all out with Paradigm Center and surrounds I wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing out on the LSi sound.

As far as your room size, I have had my LSi 9's in my office for a week (12 X 15 room) and they sound good in there too (without a sub). Sure the soundstage isn't as big and open and I don't crank 'em up as much but they still sound very pleasing with the Vifa tweeter. I bet its the Vifa that has stirred up your curiousity too. Sounds a LOT smoother than the RT35i's that you have. I had the 35i's for a couple of years myself.

As far as the Def Tecs, I almost bought a pair of BP 10Bs a few months back. A local dealer had them on sale for $600 brand new with a 10 year warranty I think. Regular cost is $1100 I think. I listened to them for a short time (in less than optimal setup conditions); From my take on the BP 10b's they are not as musical as the LSi's in my opinion. Great for Home Theater though. I'm not sure which Def Tecs you were interested in dude.

LSi 7's or 9's with the sub that you have would be an awesome experience for you. It would also provide a basis for something to continue to grow into. I say go for it!

Heck you don't have to be "older" to have "upgradeitis"; its contagious and can strike anybody. No known vaccine known to mankind either (except maybe a wife; us single guys ain't gotta worry about that).

That sucks. I can just imagine your sister cranking the Adcom and making the dustcaps fly off *for real*

Apartments with no soundproofing, square bedrooms, hollow doors - my God, when will architects finally realize the problems they give us?

My sister has abused my stereo before, to solve this I designed a door and asked a friend to build it. Then I put a lock on it! No more sister, stereo in safe hands! RS, I get to design my house when I move out since I will be helping building it. The Den will have an area where a screen will go over, and behind it will be room for Mains - Center - Subwoofers. The back will have a Door where it will lead into a closet where the speakers will be placed and hung firing out behind the wall, well not in the wall. More the less on a platform firing out into the room. (The wall will have an opening). Other than that, my house will be normal. Did I mention, all the studs surrounded the den will be glued, and sound damping materials will be placed underneath the sheatrock. I'll be in Audio Heaven. My future rig for me looks to be RT loaded. When I talk about buying stuff, I am pretty much pondering - and I don't think anyone caught my sarcasim that everyone was buying speakers because they were cheap. *Lsi or Def Techs? Hmm, *taps fingers*, no one sees the sarcasim? LOL!

BTW, MX - how old is your sister? You make her out to be some bratty little 8 year old who's goal every day is to make you miserable.

How did she abuse the system? Clipping? Playing her backstreet boys cd on it?

She's 15 almost 16. She played it at distorted levels. She claimed it just wasn't loud enough.

"If it distorts, turn it down. Then buy more stuff." I think I read that in one of Polk's car audio library articles or something.

Doro's domestic fix for sibling rivalry:

When she opens her mouth, punch her as hard as you can in the face.

When she opens it again, batter up, unless she is odd, she will learn, its what humans do.

Lesson over. And no, I have no charges that are pending, nor ever proven in a West Virginia court of law.

*disclaimer - Doro only used a female sibling for demonstrative purposes only, feel free to insert any relative or miscreant as you see fit.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

They didn't put "out of stock" on the order button yet, but when you try to order them it says they are not avalible. There is an option to select if you want them to send you an email when they are back in stock, though

    Yes,

I ordered mine last Friday night and got them yesterday. They look nice and one sounds great. The other is bad, distortion on certain passages. Sounded like a bad tweeter so I disconnected it and with just the woofer playing, I didn't hear it. So I put the bad tweeter in the other speaker and it sounded fine over there. I put the good tweeter in the first speaker and with that tweeter in place, the distortion returned. CC has no more anywhere according to them so with only a refund as an option there, It was call Ken S. at Polk this morning. He suggested further diagnostics (swap this, swap that etc.etc.) to isolate problem component and send the culprits back for replacement.

Looks like I, got some 'sperimenting to do this weekend. Oh well, my first bad polk experience. Go figure!!!

Bummer. I hope mine are OK. This might be a good test of QC since it seems like a lot of members (at least several)all bought the same speakers from the same vendor at the same time. It will be interesting to see how the quality varies for each.
    Everybody PLEASE review
