Just checked their website and you can buy them online in maple for $199.98 /pair with free shipping. Was in a store last week and didn't see them there

Man, THAT is a good deal.

I wish I had $199 right now, I'd do it just for grins.

Why do you need a tuner VrMx?

$199/pair seems to be too good to be true. Is this some kind of Market Research?

Has anybody seen these. I can't find them on Polks site. They look like floorstanding RTi38's. I'm looking for a deal on some 38's and these are almost 1/2 the price. I suppose I could buy 'em and cut them in half........kidding. But the maple finish would match my LS50's better than black or cherry, hmmmm

Definitly not with a MSRP of $379 EACH!
Now riddle me this Batman. Several members reccommended the RTi38's as rear surrounds to go with my LS50's and CS350. Would these work as well? I was going to get the 38's and put them on stands at ear level but these would basically be that high sitting on the floor. Add in the cost of the stands to the 38's and these are way less than 1/2 the price.
Maybe I've got this backwards........Are these better than the LS50? The LS50 has 2 6 1/2 drivers and these have 1 but all of the specs seem comparable. Should I consider these for mains and move the 50's to the rear??

This is weird. Maybe they have extra inventory to unload. It seems like they are getting new models around now. Are they for real?

That would be my guess. Can someone at Polk enlighten us?

Because this POS cord that came with the PE sucks arse. Its not on my list to buy, but its on my list to look. When, and If I decide to buy a seperate tuner I will be coming to the boards for opinions. Right now, I can't stand to listen to the radio because of the poor quality. With a seperate tuner I would expect this to fade away. But I don't expect CD quality. Tuners are cheap too, especailly on EBay. I've seen some go for $50.00.

Is your problem sound quality or interferance? Don't expect wonderful quality from anything along the lines of a rock or pop station because they have literally racks full of equipment to make the sound as loud as possible even on a 2" mono radio speaker at a construction site. Sounds like doggy doo when you play it on anything decent, really strained and harsh.

awesome heads up, I was looking to buy some more rt35i's for my dads bedroom system for his birthday. He currently has a pair of maple 35's in front along with a cs245i, but in the rear are some cheap yamaha bookshelves. Ebay hasnt been much help, and the maple ones are very few and far between. Awesome Deal!!!!!!!
    Thanks! Mike

I've got some extra R15s laying around doing nothing so I could trade them in and get them for $60. While I'm at it, why not buy two more for surrounds? :)

I usually don't like stealing from stores but when they practically say "Come on, take 'em!", why not? Circuit City's getting but-raped selling them at this price, but it's their decision.

Maybe this is a way to build customer loyalty by making people believe that they always have retardedly excellent deals?

    WOW!!!!
My rt1000's pretty much just fell out of warrenty - they were my first polk's.
I bet i can't even get my bezel array with woffer and tweeter replaced for that much.
They are starting to sound fatiged.
    I wonder!!!!!
Can I replace the rt speakers with the new rti speakers.
    Same exact setup - dimentions.
For free shipping it is worth a stad.
    What do you guys think????

Scratch that, none of the stores here have it in stock. Do any real, physical, existant in three dimensions stores have it in stock or does it have to be over the internet?

What have you been listening to? If you listen to the typical teen rock type of station I think you would then you can rest assured that they have processed the original source to hell so people will think it's "louder" on **** 2" mono rat shack radios. Try some classical, jazz, or more cultured stations that are likely to use less processing. I'm not saying you have to listen to that, but don't disown your tuner until you try.

That is an amazing deal for those speakers. I am trying to get my Dad to wake up in the 21st century and start by purchasing these puppies.....gotta go get to work :)
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Too late? Does this mean that they are gone? Well, I am glad I snagged one pair, but I was contemplating a second... well, I guess this makes my mind up for me. If anyone is unhappy of course, I could probably take their pair off their hands.... :D

    dthomps,

I just snagged a second pair online. Was thinking of putting together a system for my daughter and this looks like a great starting point.

    Yes they are still available.

Been searching Ebay for a sub, center and receiver and it appears she could end up with a kick **** starter system for less than 7 bills!!! Damn!
