Q: What vegetable is Matt Polk so allergic to that he keeps the phrase “No
“ written in five languages on a card in his wallet?

    cauliflower?

Q: What was the first tweeter that Polk Audio made and sold?

that horn tweet from the monitor 9?

Q: What extremely rare Polk Audio product was only manufactured from 1978-1979?

    monitor 9

Q: What was significant about Polk Audio's introduction of the famous Cobra Cable in 1981?

helix wound, and a habit of grenading amps?..LOL

Q: What was the crossover architecture difference between the Monitor 5, 7 and 10, in the original Monitor series (circa 1979)?

each had more "doodads" then the other

Q: What was the first speaker that I (Stu Lumsden) voiced entirely on my own and in about what year?

    RTA 11 1984

Q: What car audio product never made it to retail yet toured the nation as part of a new lineup?

“ written in five languages on a card in his wallet?

    Just a wild stab...cauliflower?
Q: What was the first tweeter that Polk Audio made and sold?

SL1000 sounds about right...But according to my research, (one of)the earliest tweeters that Polk used was the Motorola Piezoelectric tweeter in the Model 9's.
Q: What extremely rare Polk Audio product was only manufactured from 1978-1979?

    Model 9's or 9A's?
Q: What was significant about Polk Audio's introduction of the famous Cobra Cable in 1981?

They were the first speaker manufacturer to offer their own in house speaker cables.
Q: What was the crossover architecture difference between the Monitor 5, 7 and 10, in the original Monitor series (circa 1979)?

Most of the SL1000/2000 equipped Monitors used a 2.0 ohm resistor in the HF signal path, and most of the Peerless equipped Monitors used 2.7 and 4.5 ohm resistors wired in series(or parallel?).
Q: What was the first speaker that I (Stu Lumsden) voiced entirely on my own and in about what year?

Gonna have to go with Monitor 7's here...1979ish.
Q: What car audio product never made it to retail yet toured the nation as part of a new lineup?

The in car SDA? I could swear I remember seeing an in car SDA system on ebay a while back...but I may be remembering wrong.

    +100 on the EPIC KARMA...you are LEGEND....thank you...IN please

    as far as vegi..no clue....asparagus?...

    I agree on SL1000 & Mon 9's (mon 6 are '90)

    MONITOR question:
monitor 5 & 7 cross overs are exactly the same.
The difference with the Mon 10 are
    1. 2.5 resistor on HP vs 2.0
    2. resistor is bypassed with a 12uf cap (so they were first)
    3. HP has a 0.4mH ind & 2.7u res VS the 0.23mH on the Mon 5 & 7
    LP is the same.
(at least according to the wiring diagrams)

    Your First speakers....IDK....Mon 5jrs?

I like the SDA car idea...

Polkers, the Karma isn't ending anytime soon - mark the thread, and get your think/search on. Kudos to the attempts so far, a few are on track, a few are spot on, a few read well for entertainment value - which is good too!

I'd LOVE to have a pair of speakers from Mark. I know he hasn't put a sharpie to them, but I guarantee they have been signed. The only caveat I would state is that if you have any blacklighting in your listening room / home cinema - they might be distracting. I'm sure they can be seen from SPACE under the right conditions.

    Cheers,
    Rooster
