Probably not a good idea to go walking around with a deer over your shoulder during hunting season:eek:
Even on private land you are sure you're the only one on. Just (unfortunately) too many nimrods out there.

I hear ya but I was talking about a short walk from my back yard to my garage = 100 feet. And no one hunts around my home, its illegal

That is a little different, when you say yard I'm guessing you mean the typical wide open manicured yard. I've had an guy I used to hunt with get shot turkey hunting and I've had 3 close calls, close enough for me to call close, others maybe not. It's just not everyone follows basic safety, or follows the law.

Too many **** hunting here in NJ thats for sure and getting worse every year. Thats why I feel comfortable hunting close to home where no one dare venture but me. I prefer my Parker compound bow but use one of my other delivery systems :) on occasion.

Drew, you should plan a trip here for our deer season. I will hook you up with some great northern WI deer hunting, some of the largest white tail in the world! This goes out to everyone, although I dont hunt as much as I used too(do it more for the fun now) I still enjoy just being in the woods!

Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else -

    Thanks Tom,
Even when I did live in Wisconsin I didn't deer hunt there. I did spend some time pheasant hunting which was always great. Many of my salesmen hunted deer and I saw first hand all the heads, some beauties some not, on the walls and found the non-typical kind of screwy.
Thats a real nice offer but when I return to see my friends and business cohorts it will be when the weather is beautiful. The farthest north I'll get will probably be Minocqua. Friends own a beautiful spread on Lake Minocqua so a couple days there then back south to Wausau then Milwaukee area. So, no hunting, one 1911 for personal protection, plenty of Budweiser, no pictures :o
and a lot of cash, I learned long ago don't expect every business to accept American Express.
I miss your beautiful state and the wonderful people I made life long friends with.
    Drew

    George,
Thats a great way to tenderize the meat before cooking. Hope you didn't get hurt. I get a kick out of it when I see a headless deer on the side of the road. I can only imagine what some people think happened LMAO

:DWhen I see that all I can think about is what lie someone is going to make up about how they "hunted" that deer, that and wonder how big the rack may have been that prompted someone to bother.

I feel for the deer and turkeys this year. The ground has been covered for some time now. They have to be eating conifers and bark. Glad I got some venison and Elk from a friend before it got nasty out. This kinda weather makes them tastes real bad, and isn't very good for their health.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. Thanks

My dad has been hunter as long as I can remember , hes 80 this year and still hunts. He has a 350 acre camp a few hours north of here. Growing up wild game was a staple in our house and as kids my brother and I used to go with dad. I never really took to hunting myself but liked the time I spent with my dad and brother. One of these years I should go on the deer hunt and just hang with them. My personal preference of wild game is moose meat. Nothing compares IMHO.

If Moose tastes better than Elk I'll have to try some. There are Moose not too far from here in New Hampshire. Rabbit is awesome too.
