Well, got the final blow today, guess what they say about it comes in 3's is true. Was informed today that tomorrow will be my last day of employment with my current company, yep guys, got laid off today. As much as I wanted to be pissed off I just couldn't be mad. I guess since I've been preparing myself for this day since February it made it a little easier to deal with. After talking with the president of the company I found out that the 3 owners of the company have only brought home 3 paychecks since February of this year, 1 whole paycheck and 2 half paychecks. In my opinion, couldn't have asked for 3 better boss's for the past 5 years. If I'm hurt about anything what so ever it would be that I've never, until now, been fired or laid off in all my years of working. Anyways, there are better things to come I just hope it comes quickly.

Bro I'm so sorry to hear this. I went through it myself last October when Tweeter went under. For years I worked there I wanted a better place to work. Grass was just greener everywhere else. But really I had it so damn good at Tweeter. I actually loved my job there. I made tons of money and I worked with a lot of great people. I have made many friends and got to learn so much about our hobby.

When all that went down man and no one was hiring I felt so lost and empty. But I landed on my feet quick and only good things come out of this. You learn how damn tuff you are . I learned how to budget myself. I learned a lot over the last year.

I wish you very well man and I hope everything turns out good. I'm sure it is. good things happen to good people and I think you are one of them. Sometimes you need a swift kick in the **** and maybe you will do better then you where.

Keep you chin up , clean the tub and cut the grass. I'm sure there are some house chores you been putting off. Now is the time to get some things done. When I wasn't looking for work , I was managing my life. Cleaning out the closets if you will.

Sorry to hear Grim, keep your positive attitude and outlook, take inventory of your skillset and experiences, and march on.

One door closed, another will open...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

My condolences bro. You mentioned in your previous thread your background was in engineering. May I inquire as to which discipline?

That sucks. Don't stay at home too long without job searching. I do not see the economy getting better any time soon.
    Good luck and take care.

Sorry to hear about this. I am getting tired of hearing that the economy is getting better, at times it seems like there is an upstart then it goes back down, "In my line of work anyway". I hope things look up for you fast.

This is a good idea. My closets are clean, my life is super organized these days, my Golf game is better than ever and and I feel great about it.

Stay positive and stay busy. I've spent a lot of time with Family members who had been somewhat neglected also (this perhaps the best way to use this time).

I was laid off by Cadillac in JUNE! I will be starting a new job in about a month working for a developer in Malibu, eventually running Golf operations and my little vacation will be over for at least a couple of years.

You'll be back on the job soon enough, believe me, time flies, make the most of any time off.

    Good luck.

Really though I'm sorry to hear that. I too agree that this whole "economy will get better" thing is all just b/s. Don't see how people still manage to go to the malls early on a weekday and the whole damn lot is packed full of cars DSR#WTGEH&.............going on a rant.

I too am unemployed, got out of the Marines March of this year and still looking. Taking the police test though in the middle of Oct, go check them out in your town

Man, a lot of bad news in the Clubhouse lately.

You won't be out of work long. I think the economy is slowly rebounding back. My employment is looking questionable as well, but as bad as I would feel about being laid off, part of me sees it as - liberating.

Look at it as an opportunity to refine (or change completely) your career. Maybe a step back in pay, but that is temporary.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

Well said and I highly agree. We spoke earlier Rob but I know things will quickly turn around for you bro.

Lot's of good advise in this thread. The best one I have seen is "BUDGET". If you can afford to take a week or two for your self, Catch up on a thing or two. Do not dwell on not having a job, but don't just put it off all together. craigslist is a great place to pick up a little money if you are handy. Listen to mantis, he knows what's up. I'm right there now too. Thing have a way of working themselves out.Best of luck, and enjoy the adventure.

    Later,
