I believe those are setup as presence speakers. Presence speakers are fed generated ambience (reverb and early reflections that weren't in the original recording) in order to simulate a larger room.

I was talking about the FXi's along the side wall in front of his listening position.

I think you need to seriously re-arrange some speakers on your room. You do realize that surround speakers are supposed to go behind you...right?

Why is the sub on a stand?

Taggers are worse than trolls! They are wimps trollers! Got to be the worse wimps of ALL when even when hiding behind a keyboard, you need to hide behind tags! How of a wimp can one be? Ask a TAGGER!

Oh god save the wimp troller nonsense, Slow's getting a taste of his own medicine. I bet many of the taggers are the same ones criticizing him on the board. Here's my tags: "dumbass with, speaker placement" I had to separate it into two tags to fit.

If you'd simply post, you wouldn't have needed to post 2 separate, only one post for the entire wordings ;)

I saw your post, but think the reality is one of two scenarios: First, you now are educated and realize your placement is retarded . . . so now you scramble to cover up your previous stupidity by saying "it was only for the photos."

Or, Two, you are still retarded, and are willing to move your speakers placement to prove . . . exactly what to everyone on the forum? I don't buy that you moved the speakers for the photos. Everyone knows what the speakers look like. The point of taking the shots is to see your system, which includes room placement.

You don't know how to setup any speaker as evidenced by the sub on the stool.

You're thinking in troll terms. I don't need to get a rise out of you. I'm just satisfied knowing based on the evidence you provided that you know nothing about setting up a sound system.

    haha!

I'm here to help slow people like you. Here, this book is not perfect, but it'll sure help. Don't spend that $3K set aside until you know how to put together a good system.

I am going for martin logan sl3's and using the rest for a pre and amp

Cones are for HT ,electrostats will be good for fidelity

My wife wants logans , but I may search for that at the library

How old is the book , I would imagine such publications get dated

    Thanks anyways solid

    Hey,

If you can increase your budget or find a pair used, check out Sound Labs. Their products are better than Martin Logan. The Dynastat in particular is amazing at such an affordable price.

One last thing on a more 'educational' note and as a word of criticism, go read up on speaker placement. You'll thank us all later for it.
