Well, they did call him the King, or something, did they not. I suppose that is similar to President, even though we live in a democracy, not a monarchy.

Edit: Shack! You beat me to it, and added a pic. Now what do I look like? Late to the party and no frills attached?

No kidding, there was some ditz on Fox a while ago that compared the public's reaction to his death, to that of President Kennedy's.

I feel sorry for Farrah.............I've caught bits and pieces of CNN the past couple of hours and only one mention of her passing today.

Gotta love the media today

Not defending any alleged criminal activities or personal eccentricities, but the guy is one of the most-known and at one time most popular figuers in pop culture, especially among people my age. People react to the death of someone who they recognize, taht's all there is to it. You guys can all pretend it's not news, but it is; however sad Farrah's death was, far, far more people (at least, people in key demographics for news coverage) know Michael Jackson's name than hers.

And seriously, do we have to go through this nonsense EVERY time something is in the news, where you guys all say how ridiculous it is? It's the way of the world; news is a business and they show what will get the most eyes on screens. It ain't gonna change for the better, I'll tell you right now, so if you insist on ignoring it then ACTUALLY IGNORE IT.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Elvis was so not the king. he was just the first male singer to move his hips and the ladies loved it. his songs were only so so.. I think I like maybe two of them total.

and now the end is near.... that was pretty good.

Despite what he contributed to the world of music, he became a freak show, and a sorry sack of **** for what he did with those kids. If he wasn't guilty he wouldn't have given millions of dollars out in out of court settlements. I never celebrate the death of another human, but I feel no loss either.

    Where have you guys been?

Earlier in the day, it was all Farrah. Still, her passing is not unexpected....especially when it was announced yesterday (or the day before yesterday) that Ryan O'Neil was going to marry Farrah. MJ's passing? Totally unexpected. Perhaps that's the reason partially for the frenzy.

Still, 2 great artists have passed away today. They may not be your cup of tea, but their respective influences can still be felt today.

I hope both of them can now finally get the peace they were seeking.

Sadly, for many in our country Michael Jackson is more important than the president. They could recite the lyrics for a dozen Michael Jackson song, tell you when they were released and what is favorite color is. They also can not name the Vice President of our country.

The extent of the importance of "pop culture" by so many is our country is apalling.

As for the Fox new comment it just seemed like a shot at Fox News more so than a shot at the dumbass public.

Have you ever tagged a thread?
