    That's because everyone is using their A/C today.

    Why don't you use a UPS for your HT gear and plug your receiver into the wall, or go with some sort of passive surge protection for the receiver.

    I want to try a Panamax 5100 for the receiver and UPS for the other gear that have hard drives, etc. That would be the HTPC, DVR, Xbox 360 and projector.

    I'm going back to APC for the UPS though - my experience with the Monster was poor. It made everything sound dynamically compressed and terrible sounding.
