Of course it is only the SECOND best selling album in the US...according to the RIAA. His death will problably push it over the top however.
True good catch on both counts. :)

I get that people don't like his music, that's fine I'll grant you that. But to say that it hasn't had any influence or doesn't last over time, I'm sorry but that's just dumb.

It's also contrary to every shred of factual evidence (in terms of album sales over DECADES) and the opinion of virtually EVERYONE in the music industry (I've yet to hear anyone in the R&B arena of music who'll deny that).

Again, you can not like his music, and can argue that he influenced a whole genre of bad music if you don't like R&B - but the statements that his music didn't hold up over time and that he had no influence are simply inaccurate.

Damn...Who do you think will make more money as a dead person?

Elvis or Michael? I am sure Elvis will not be so peace of mind knowing another dead man is going to compete his position now.

MJ bid against his friend Paul for the rights to the songs, and outbid him. Lennon/McCartney had no rights to the music whatsoever. Paul has despised MJ for a very long time because of this. It has been rumored though there is no evidence to back it up, that McCartney may have helped MJ's legal troubles along...
Not sure if there is any truth to this rumor started back in January but we will find out in due time.

Allow me to enlighten these good folks to your true character. zero wants to attend a Polkfest, yet has no ride or place to stay and asks if I and the Polkie I was traveling with could pick him up. We couldn't because the vehicle was going to be packed with gear, so I make some phones calls and arrange for another Polkie to pick zero up and give him a place to stay. How do I get rewarded for my efforts, you ask? I walk into the host's living room to see zero kicking one of my speakers that was on the floor. Why? Because it seemed to be in his way. The kicker (pun intended) is that to this day, he still doesn't get that he broke the golden rule of audio, that you never touch another persons gear, let alone kick it.

Has anyone ever wondered why he has "Stronzo" under his user name and what it means? It was put there as a reflection of his character. The translation has multiple meanings including, a very stupid person, disloyal, ****, evil person and ****. All of which fit.

I just saw a report on Fox News that the authorities are questioning OJ about the death of MJ...oops, wrong forum.

On a different note, the only thing MJ influenced was a new era of commercialism-driven crappy music. The stars did align for MJ with the explosion of MTV onto the music scene, which really pushed his popularity to unbelievable levels. As far as his influence, IMO it was a negative one on music. This is why in my earlier post I referred to the Beatles as the best "Rock" band. vs. the King of "Pop". Again. just my opinions...

He actually owned them lock, stock & barrel... His falling out with Paul McCartney was due to MJ going behind his back and buying them in the first place. I stopped liking MJ because of this.

What I heard was he was offered first bid at the rights to the songs by some creep at the record company, and the Beatles never knew about it until it was too late.
But the Curse of backstabbing the Beatles descended upon the unhappy soul. For this transgression he would wander, he would wail, he would lost his fortune and never obtain peace.

You see, that's the problem with you Jesse. Not only can you not get your facts straight, but you simply cannot fathom the concept of growing up and letting go _FIVE YEAR OLD_ grudges. If anyone wants to believe the **** you spew, that's on them. When I have the time, I can address the good folks here as to what really went down - and all the MASSIVE yet convenient things that you fail to mention.

Until then, I gotta run. Got a plane to catch.. but since you are so concerned with airing out old dirty laundry in threads that have absolutely no relevance to it (you wanna talk of character eh ole boy, HAH, have I got some news for these folks...) ... I'll get on it when I have the time.

Meanwhile, have fun with your cheap shots. Funny, you're well over two decades my senior yet continue to act like you're in highschool. Once again, I'd laugh at you if you weren't so pathetic.

My facts are 100% straight and I've got witnesses to prove them. Your memory is poor sonny boy, the only bullsh!t spewing forth comes out of your mouth. How about the fact that you never apologized to the host? How about the fact that you never apologized to me until weeks later and a very insincere one at that. I did nothing wrong, I've got nothing to hide and I've got nothing to be ashamed of, unlike you. So yeah, I'll bring up your complete lack of character whenever I damn well please....just to rub it in your face....because I can and to remind everyone else who you really are.....a stronzo.

The reason I thought what you said was funny is what I heard my daughter say to her aunt. After I told my sister in-law during a cell phone call, her aunt, my feelings about Jackson being dead she said something to me like thats sick. Then Kate, my daughter says "my daddy is not very compassionate some times"! She is 100% correct.

ok lets get back on topic..

has it ever occurred to anyone that what if.. just what if... those young boys who were accusing MJ of the things they did were some how told to say that against MJ by a parent or guardian?

MJ had a lot of money at one time.. don't you think some fan or family member could have told this or that boy to tell lies about MJ molesting them? people do weird and unusual things to people who have money or are in the public eye.

I work with local TV news people.. and even at this lowly level nearly each female reporter or anchor has had at least one stalker sending them letters or making inappropriate comments to them in person. One stalked even showed up at the back door and was stalking the female anchor.

Fame attracts the really scary weirdo's and the blackmailers to them. Why would someone not want to blackmail MJ for several millions of $$$ ? It can happen.

I know that if I were to be accused of being a pedophile every single person in this world would hear me adamantly defending myself. I'd never ever ever let it go till ever single person in this world knew I was innocent. I'd use every single resource available to prove my innocence. It would be a lot easier for me to do this if I had millions to spend like Michael Jackson. HHMMMMMMMMMMM So why didn't he do this? I can only think of one reason and it has nothing to do with lawyers.

Why do you think he didn't defend himself like I hope you would and I know I would?

For those of you who know who Richard Ramirez is and looks like, do some of the pictures of MJ with the dark sunglasses on look kind of like him?
