Good movie, definitely better than what I expected. Any shortcomings it had were the obviously the fault of the director(can't say his name and not laugh) but at least he tried to make a good movie, unlike Jonathan Mostow who thought it would be funny to destroy the time line set forth by the first two. Terminator Salvation had a B-movie vibe to it that definitely reminded me of the first. And even though it used action pieces reminiscent of the originals, they were done in a way that felt fresh and exciting. T3 also tried this with its action scenes but they had a "been there, done that" feel so Terminator Salvation succeeded in that regard. Overall it was a good flick. Story was intriguing, action was great and it was a definite step up from the last one. I hope they continue with the new trilogy.

While I apparently enjoyed T3 more than most, I agree with the majority of what you said. McG surprisingly pulled off an action movie that didn't feel like a McG action movie, and they were just referential enough to the original to make it feel like a Terminator movie more than T3 did.

But good lord, did my subwoofer take a walloping during this! It brought a big smile to my face to hear some of those bass hits and feel my Buttkicker rumble the couch!

Worst of the series, mostly background fill stuff but a bit disjointed, editing could of been better, effects were lacking realism, costuming will not likely win any awards, yea I agree with the sort of B-movie feel thing but not as good as the first. But it was still worth watching. Beat the TV show, I missed the boobies and not sure I can bear another viewing before I return it so what scene???

Nice, way to try to integrate yourself into a community.

We really liked this one, better than the third I think. I've got it coming on Blu Ray tomorrow from Amazon.

Just re-watched the original Terminator. Thinking back, there actually is a LOT of fan service going on in Salvation. For example, one thing I didn't notice while watching Salvation is that the terminator at the end of that film is the same Terminator from the first. Holy crap  ! Did they get the same guy to play that role cuz that guy apparently hasn't aged a day since 1984. Kidding. ;)

But seriously, there are a lot of little throwbacks for the fans like Marcus showing Kyle the trick with the shotgun sling, something that he used in the first movie. Small things like that made the movie even more enjoyable. Salvation definitely isn't a classic like the first two but it really isn't half bad either.

Watched it last night, and liked it. It had a bit of Battlestar Galactaca morality in the question of what is a machine, and what is a person. Also, I think Bale played John Conner the way he did in the movie to show he was more of a machine than a person, but at the end he had a change of heart, and I suspect will be more human in future episodes.

I have liked all three. While a part of a series, each is unique in its own way, and stands on its own merits. I think one of the reasons why many do not like T3 is that they did not understand the purpose. T3 was about Claire Danes character, while Arnold was only a small supporting character. Once I realized that I really enjoyed the movie. In fact, it became my regular DVD audio reference disk, and I must have watched it every weekend for 2-3 months.

For a squack snack yes, but Claire Danes wasn't the Terminatrix. She was John Connor's future wife, ad a leader of the resistance.

There was a nude scene in this movie?! I am missing something here, as I must have bought the stupid BlockBuster version.... lol
I missed the boobies and not sure I can bear another viewing before I return it so what scene???

I had a couple of free Redbox codes this weekend so I got Terminator Salvation and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. There wasn't a nude scene in the version I watched either. The plot holes were annoying, but it was a very entertaining movie. I'm buying a used copy of the Blu-ray.
It was riddled with problems. I mean John Connor AND Kyle Reese are inside Skynet and by themselves and alive? they are in the middle of the nest and they only send one naked terminator to kill them? Or should I call them Slapinators? :D

Perhaps Skynet has something analogous to human emotions and likes to torment it's victims before finishing them off? I noticed that it seemed to be gloating when it was explaining to Marcus how its master plan for trapping Conner finally worked.
I see that in a post nuclear holocost that very shortly after we will have the technology to do heart transplants in the field. That's believable.

Hey, you do what you gotta do.

Seriously, they never showed the surgery taking place out in the open, so I assumed that they stabilized Connor in the field and took him elsewhere to do the transplant or they may have had some type of mobile operating facility that could come to the field. Since they were fighting a war, it would make sense that they would have some type of advanced technology M.A.S.H. unit available.
I loved Marcus! He was awesome. I could watch him for a loooong time. BUT WTH? They make an 'infiltration ' terminator that's cluless ? An why were other terminators not recognizing him?

That part actually made sense to me. If Marcus really believed he was totally human it would be easy for others to accept him as such. The other (rank and file) terminators most likely weren't programmed to recognize Marcus. It would have raised questions in Marcus' mind and the minds of the Resistance if the terminators were going easy on him.

What didn't make sense to me was, with all of the metal he had inside him, why would Skynet think Marcus could get inside a Resistance base, let alone walk through a mine field, undetected?
Oh well. I loved the action and the sound and even the story such as it is. I'll buy it on Blu Ray. :D

Me too...which is why they know they don't have to work too hard to make a coherent story.:)

I guess the nude scene was in the BR Director's Cut. I did not see the theatrical release so I was wondering what was in the extra 3 minutes. The nude scene was the Wart Hog pilot bathing in the rain, at least her top half.
