Polk Audio forum "ping".

First off, I'd like to mention that I am not complaining. I'm just trying to troubleshoot an issue that I seem to be having with the Polk forum lately. Being basically computer stupid, I have no clue where to start. What I'd like to know is whether the issue is on my end or CP's end and then go from there.
Here's what's happening. I click onto a thread and start reading. What I notice is the little circle at the top R hand side

is still rotating. After about 20-30 seconds, the page moves to a non-specific post that was no where near where I was reading. This sometimes happens once but sometimes it will happen 3 or 4 times making me find once again, the post that I was in the middle of reading.
Not a real biggie but it sure can get aggravating. Any of you know what I may could do to stop this from happening? It started about maybe a week or two ago and as I mentioned, I have no freakin' clue how to get it to stop. FYI, it doesn't happen on any other forum nor does it happen on any other website.
I do run Firefox and I am hooked up to a wireless connection if that makes any difference. The wireless hookup has been installed for about a month and a half and I've been on Firefox for about three years now.
Thanks for any help you might have to offer for this "thing" that's happening to my 'puter.

I've been having the same problem myself lately. Not a big deal, but it is kind of annoying.

I've never seen that issue, but I stopped using Firefox about a year ago, because my fingerprint reader software is only compatible with IE7 (which I find to be a big improvement on the prior versions that made me switch to FF in the first place).Alea jacta est!

Also having the same issue. The spinning thing means the page is still loading, so something is taking an extra-long time to load on every page.If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
-
Hmmm, I thought I was the only one with an issue since I hadn't heard anything about it previously. If it helps, I am also running a high speed line and it seems to occur not only on those pages with attachments, but also those that do not have any.
I wish now I remembered the exact date that it started.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Out of curiosity I just fired up IE7 and it seems to behave the same, so I don't think it's a browser issue. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

It was mentioned last week sometime I think, and my status bar is making a call to "stats.polkaudio.com" while this is happening. I'm using SeaMonkey.
I just tried with IE7 and I'm *not* having trouble with that -- pages load quickly and completely. My version of IE7 might not be the most up-to-date, since I don't use it very often. It's v7.0.5730.11.
I then tried Google Chrome and it's behaving just like SeaMonkey, with a long pause after each page load with the mouse/hourglass cursor and the "spinning" status in the tab.
The page is responsive while it's doing this, but I too have noticed the "jumping" down several posts randomly over the past week or two. I'm not sure if these two things are related or not.Speakers: Polk LSi15

Well, whatever it was that caused this to happen is gone now. The little circle still goes round and round for about twenty or so seconds but the page no longer bounces to another post.
Thank you to the powers that be for doing whatever it is that you did to resolve this. It is appreciated.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

I hvae had the issue at home for a couple weeks, but not at work. My HD has been giving me trouble so I sort of thought that might be the issue, except all other website work fine. I'm all ears here as to what to do. It's annoying as hell, because many times it's very slow to load the page. and I'm getting this as well my status bar is making a call to "stats.polkaudio.com"
I run Fire Fox here and IE8 at work.

It's happening to me as well. But I have switched to Firefox from Explorer. I'll try using Explorer again and see if I get the same effect?

Computer stupid reporting in here.......I have rebooted, disabled and re-enabled, disconnected and reconnected, hard reset, soft reset, reconfigured and even cursed the computer. After all is said and done, I think the cursing of the computer had the most effect.....which was none.
Seriously. If anybody has a clue as to how to stop this, I'm all ears and out of curse words.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Tom, I think it's the site, not you/your browser/your computer. Happening here, too, and I'm running Mac PPC/Firefox.

It's not the site because it's not happening on my computer....never has. Seems like firefox may be the common denominator. I'm running IE. Other than Bobman when he switched from FF to IE (with FF still on his machine), no one running IE seems to have the problem."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

To be fair, it is Firefox in conjunction with this site. Sites can have browser-specific issues, this one obviously has one.If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I thought I had it going on at work using IE, but I could be mistaken...

Since I can't see the problem I don't know what it is. I just know what it isn't. I was merely responding to agfrost who felt it was a Polk site problem. It isn't or we all would see it.
