    Oops, no spoilers.

Exceeded my expectations. You do not have to be a trekkie/trekker to enjoy this flick.

ahhh.. finally a good Star Trek movie.

I'm not a big fan of the series/movies.. but this one has such a high entertainment value to it... so far the best movie of 2009... but there are many more movies still to come the rest of the year.

I haven't seen it but I've been hearing that alot of fans are not liking it because it deviates greatly from the original story line laid down by Gene Roddenberry and kind of dumbs it down to an explosion and fist fight fest. Most fans and movie reviewers are calling it Star Trek for people who don't like Star Trek.

Again, I haven't seen it yet so I can't comment on it myself. I'm still reeling from the butchering "Wolverine: Origins" took on the big screen.

Oh yeah, and I forgot, Trek ain't got nuthin' on Star Wars!

Remember kid, ancient weapons and hokey religions are no match for a good blaster by your side!

Notice he said BLASTER not a "phaser" (they are made by phairies you know.). Blasters. That's all I gotta say. Besides moons that blow up entire planets.

    Yeah, Trek ain't got nuthin'!

It was mostly a joke, though I do think the original Star Trek is WAY overhyped (I liked The Next Generation though).

No, not really. That looks like poo.

I'm so sick of the Terminator movies...and Alien...and Predator. They should have an Alien vs. Predator vs. Terminator and call it a day.

Although the 4th Pirates of the Carribean movie looks like fun but it's not out this year. Also, "The Hobbit" movie, from what I've seen, looks pretty slick also. I hope they put Tom Bombadil in it.

I so agree. I'm going to see it again.

Anyone who says this movie is not for Star Trek fans is a complete Idiot. It's a new fresh way to have new stories. I'm so in.

The sequel has been announced for 2011 ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1408101/ ) and I also read that the cast is signed for a total of 3 films. So, at least we get two more. WoooHooooooo.

Si-Fi movies are bad-****. I am going to wait for it to be released in B-Ray. I'm sure it rocks it would just have too like the new Term. movie. I think that they are starting to realize that the better the sound effects the better turn-out they will have.

Wow... Saw it today. Freakin' fantastic movie! Some of the best audio I've heard in the theater, and I CAN'T WAIT to get that sucker on my home system! Plus, it was a respectful honest-to-God reboot of a series that needed a kick in the ****.

Big props to J. J. Abrams. The man is GOLD.

I saw this one tonight. Really good. I was wondering how the new Kirk,Spock,etc... would hold up against the original actors. I was not dissapointed. Great casting with a great story line.

Saw it this afternoon with the whole family. Bad **** indeed! Sad also to think that the original crew, some of them have moved on to the next dimension. Chekov is a bit too young, Harold, oops, I meant Sulu is great. Of course, the rest of the crew were great too. I wonder why Shatner wasn't involved in this project? Even the Captain's starlog voice at the end a bit akward, having heard Shatner's voice in the past. I told my son who went with me that I grew up watching this, and he genuinely could appreciated the movie despite the generation gap...

PS: watching it in theater is a must, just too much details both SQ and PQ that are just too intense to be experienced in one's home theater.

That would be unless you have a dedicated room with a good gun throwing the pic. and some good gear putting out the sound.

I will wait because the movies are just too expensive and the sound is still out dated in my area. One newer theatre has sourround but the expence is even greater. I can wait.

Saw a thing on TV a couple days ago with Shatner saying he wasnt approached to be in the film but was cool with it. He said he agreed with JJ Abrams that it wouldve been a little screwy to bring Kirk back after he'd already been killed off.

Well I tried to embed the video but it wont take it so Ill just link to it.

We're heading out to see this one now at the 6:30 showing. Cant wait!

I thought it was ok. Extremely well done, but for guys like myself who aren't treckies... it didn't have a ton of allure past the one an done. I won't have to rent it when it first comes out, that is for sure.

Was it extremely well directed? Yes.
    Was it excellent acting? Yes.

Was it as good as Dark Knight? Hell NO!

If you are a trek fan at all, I would recommend it, but it is just a movie. Fun ride, yes. Best movie in years? Umm... I didn't think so at all.

    I'd give it a solid 8 outta 10.

I'm not sure how you can give something an 8/10 and yet say it was only "ok"?????

My wife and I saw it today and both loved it. She is definitely not a Trekkie, and she would go see it again tomorrow!!!

Still haven't seen it, am a fan. Dark Knight--I thought that was a directorial mess. Some of the worst editing decisions I've ever seen, incoherent, too many loose threads, too long....tedious....and I'm a Batman fan! What can I say; I'm not sure what this film was 'supposed' to be doing! Gave DK 4/10 maybe a 5 for effects, explosions and that sort of thing! It's subjective, of course.

I heard a review of it the other day. It went along the lines of "going where other Star Trek movies have gone before." That (because it was from so called professional reviewers) and the reviews here makes me want to spend $24 for me and my wife to check it out in a theater.

There is nothing like watching a movie like Star Trek on a truely big screen with serious sound to back up the screen.
