So what do I ride next for a Motorcycle?

I sold my MV Agusta(motorcycle) today and not sure what the heck the next step is. Got a fairly good chunk of change, just confused as all hell on my next move. My MV was an 06, and only had 3500 miles on it, but I sold it as I was ready for change. Not sure if I want a custom chopper, go back to 09 R1, a new 09 Suzuki GXSR1000, or a 09 Kawi Ninja ZX10R. I'm even considering a Ducati Desmosedici if I can find one for a great price. What you guys think? Any suggestions on cruisers/crotch rockets?

After going to crotch rockets I have found it near impossible to go back to crusiers, and dont think I could ever get into a chopper, they look sweet but go ride one and you will see, after your Agusta a chopper will be like a tank. Being a Honda man I would look at the CBR1000RR, But you cant go wrong with the GSXR1000 either. The Ducati would be great but remember the RR puts out over 200 hp.
You will have to ride some and see what you like, but I have to ask why did you sell your Agusta?

200hp? Honda only claims 178 at the crank, motorcycle mags have tested it at 156hp at the rear wheel. Where did you get that number, make it up?

that one might be rater expensive and unpractical being the engine is toast after 400 miles and they only make one a day, maybe should not post till I have had my coffee?

ok scratch that, the one thats toast after 400 miles is the race version the Moto GP, "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue". But seriously would give the Honda CBR1000RR a look:D

Sorry, thought you were referring to the Honda 1000RR. Haven't really checked out the Ducati's, too much maintenance.

NOT a motorcycle guru, but if you want a cruiser with balls, the only 2 that come to mind, are the Suzuki M109R2, and the Kawasaki 1600 Mean Streak*

The desmo goes for 75k new, I was looking to spend maybe 40 at best. The reason I sold the MV was more a power move. I took into consideration, current value, yr of the bike, etc. I fortunate to get nearly 20k back out of it. So I'm thinking 09 R1 or GSXR1000R. I saw the new CBR and they seem just a tad too compact for me. I'm 6'4 so I need something just a tad bigger.

Im 5-11 and my honda cbr900 rr is a bit snug for me and sure the 1000 is probably about the same, well you might look at what feels most comfortable and mght consider changing bars if you get another crotch rocket. One crusier you may consider is the Honda VTX 1800 if I ever got out of crotch rockets I would get one of these. An old friend of mine (rode and was a certified Harley tech) got one years ago and has never looked back. I know how it feels to be without a bike, espically this time of year, but would take your time and really find what works for you.

In my opinion (from a non-motorcycle guy, I must admit), after an Augusta the only logical choice is a Ducati.

And now I'll commence behaving like I do with my friend when he's rebuilding an engine and I'm trying to persuade him to buy a new cam for it:

The newer MV is gorgeous but I'll have to dump more money back into, few upgrades from the 06. I think the Desmo RR, screams "Go faster!!" I really really want it, just not sure about prices, 75K is a ton of cash for a bike.

Wow, I must admit, the Aprilia and the BMW both look pretty nice.

Looking at BMW's website (their site for bikes stinks), I'm surprised at how reasonably they seem to be priced. However, the S1000RR isn't listed. But the 1300R makes 175hp and 10xlb-ft (forgot exactly)...but it weights 560pounds!

I found this at cycle world, pricing should be in the 20-25k neighborhood. Looks very nice, only 1000 being built for the road though

Ever thought about trying the Brit bikes? Triumph makes some pretty sweet rides these days. Their triples seem to make a great compromise between V-twin grunt and I-4 scream.

Maybe I'm the only one that thinks that BMW bike looks horrible. I dont want my bike with fish gills.

Out of all the 09 liter bikes, the honda is supposed to be rated the best. Triumph's stuff this year isnt anything to write home about.

I think you should get the desmo...and then when youre tired of it, you can do an even trade for my 09 zx6r :)
