The couple around me should be closed soon also. They didn't have much left -
Went to CC today and they didn't have much at all. Picked up a couple blu rays at 50% off and looked at there Harmony remotes at 40%off.
I was at my local one Saturday (yesterday) and they had 6 or so Harmony One's for $149 which isn't a bad deal. The guy said they would probably be closed in another 2 weeks at most. It's pretty empty so I'm thinking it's wishful think on his part.Sony 60'' SXRD 1080p

Do any of you know how much CC is selling the Sony 40XBR6 for? At www.dealcost.com they are selling it for $1449. Ebay has it for $1439.

I had $15 in CC gift cards. Brand new store (open less than 6 months). Picked up 4 DVDs for $20. The Right Stuff, Serpico, The Big Chill and Fantastic 4 (Rise of the Silver

I had my eye on a Polk RM705 system and waiting for the next price drop. Then I found where they were grouping orphaned speakers and selling them off as sets. I picked up a mix-and-match Polk PSW10, 4 x RM7s and a RM7 center for $97.
I figured the sub was worth the price and the RM7s were an added bonus.Stan

Any Good deals in St. Louis ?..............please post at which store

Went this weekend. The store was looking pretty bare and I'd be surprised if it stayed open much longer. The only deal I saw got taken within 5 minutes of me being there. Some guy got a demo Denon avr989 for $450. That guy wasn't me. I'll go back one more time this week to see if there are any "last gasp" steals.Slowly emerging from the 90's

Went to another CC in my area (Berwyn, PA). This one was in much sadder shape than the Wilmington DE store.--More than half the store is vacant and taped off, but they still had DVDs, CDs, Games and such.
Of course I just bought GH World Tour (just the Guitar kit) the other day, and this store has the whole kits witht he drums. The employee said they are about $113 and she practically guaranteed they won't last beyond the weekend. I took that that they might be dropping prices again this weekend, at least at this store. She didn't say it but...
I might go and pick up the kit anyway since the Drums alone right now are about $100. I guess I could always sell the game and have an extra guitar around (already have two) for those party nights.
This store also has a bunch of the Harmony One's and 890's--I'm actually surprised they are still there. I know its a lot of $$ for a remote (for a lot of people), but damn-relatively speaking the price is good.
They also had a lot of store use type stuff (shelving, some bulk cables etc). They probably had about a half dozen of the AC line noise meters that are usually used with Monster Power Center display demo. They all looked new or unused in there protective cases-I forgot which brand they were (they were not Monster)--Anybody know if those meters are any good? I think it just gives a numerical readout of the noise level on the AC line. They weren't priced yet
I'll be checking out the Norristown and Exton stores again this week.____________________

I wish there was a Circuit City closer to me. The nearest one is in Rockford, like 45 miles away from me. If there was one closer by, I'd definitely be hitting up all the deals they've got.The nirvana inducer-

I would stay away from buying anything from Circuit City, it was on my news in my area how people are buying tv's and other things from CC and they get them home and find out they don't work or something is wrong with it and they can't bring it back. All liquidation. You buy a $1000+ piece of electronic and there's a problem with it, you're stuck with it.

Well, yes for things that are broken and not warrantable. If you buy something like a remote, and something is wrong with it, I would find it hard to belive that Logitech wouldn't take care if the issue. Same for any XBox games, I would imagine that MS would have some way to handle a replacement (but really how often does one come across a bad game disc or even a DVD/CD?). The broken TVs, etc are just that broken, not defective. Defective will be covered. Thats all really a piss poor policy the liquidators implemented. Final Sale is one thing, refusal to allow inspection of the item before the sale is another--At a minimum, they should be able to purchase, and then while still in the store, open and perform a quick visual check to see if there is any physical damage and allow returns in those cases where its obvious.
How many confirmed cases of that happening have there been?____________________

While I think that monster products are way overpriced at retail and the company has some questionable legal practices, at these last days liquidation prices, some of their stuff is hard to pass up.
Their CS is very good when it comes to returns. I have sent in banged up balanced ICs from the good guys liquidation a few years back and they sent me brand new factory fresh ones in return no questions asked. I don't even think I sent in the receipt. If you've already bought a monster product and are having trouble with it, definitely go the monster CS route as I'd expect them to stand by their other products as well. -
All I know is i've made an extra $50-250 a week because the place I work at is getting so much more business now that CC is done for... it's f'ing great.
I never went in there but my customers were telling me how they had terrible sales which is surprising because all they had to do was lie to me and I would've given them a better deal :P -

That's good for you but what about the thousands of CC workers without a job. -
I'm... too... weak... to... resist...
Picked up the Duet. It rocks! With the remote, I can control both the Duet and the SB3.
Yes, the Mrs. rolled her eyes like this ->
But, she's an iPod nut so I just need the weekend to show her how navigating the Duet's remote is similar to her ipod. -

The downside to CC closing however is that I'm already seeing Best Buy prices here in town "firm up". It's a small town and we only have 2 within reasonable driving distance and CC was the only competition for a lot of stuff. My guess is the real winner in the CC bankruptcy will be the Internet dealers.Sony 60'' SXRD 1080p

BB has never been particularly good at pricing even when CC was running at full steam. I've rarely seen a real deal there.
As soon as I wrap up here I'm taking my LAST trip down to my local CC and then its the end of an era.
I too feel for the 1000s of employees, had some friends who worked at CC headquarters down in Va. It's been terrible for them.
Internet dealer will probably profit but everything is going down the tubes at the moment.
