OK mensies and ladieses, I have arrived. I see that my name has been getting tossed around in here to day, so I'm here to clear up any misconceptions about the situation over at the CarverAudio.com Forum that I am aware of.

There is a whole lot more going on there that anyone on here is aware of but I will only be addressing those things that can be factually corroborated.

The Polo Shirts Incident: Prior to CarverFest 08, the owner/administrator of the CarverAudio.com offered to order custom embroidered Polo Shirts for attendees and Forum members before a September 1 deadline pending pre-payment of the shirts and shipping expenses. At least 7 members who could not attend ordered 10 Polo Shirts and pre-paid them before the deadline and those were originally supposed to get shipped before CF08 but due to timing issues, the shipping was first postponed till after the Forum owner got back from the festival. All members who attended the festival got their Polo Shirts. The Polo Shirts never got shipped despite repeated public and private promises and delays on the part of the Forum owner.

Yes, I was quite upset as I had ordered and prepaid for 4 Polo Shirts for a total of $135USD + $20 for shipping. 2 of those were intended to be a gift to another Forum member who was unable to attend the festival. As of this afternoon, the amount that I paid for the Polo Shirts was refunded to my PayPal account but not the shipping which I am more than ready to let go of.

As for the threats of physical violence to Forum Administrators I have not see any proof of any such allegations except for the assertion of this except for what I have just seen on the CarverAudio Forum and read on here. I had been speaking with my lawyer (who is wintering in Florida and is an active member of the Florida Bar and who was willing to take this matter on pro-bone) but had not even thought of any physical repercussions. Another senior member has been talking about filing charges with American Express and PayPal to get hs money refunded.

The owner of the Carver Forum has a reputation for not shipping out merchandise he has been paid for; just ask TNRabbit who used to be on the CarverAudio Forum about waiting 9 months to receive a car amp he had paid for and another senior Forum member who sent 3 48" ribbins in for repair along with a $1200 + shipping expenses some 17 months ago and is still waiting for them back repaired, so there are other people on that Forum who have plenty more reason than me to be pissed at the administrators.

There are always 3 sides to any story: the 2 sides represented by each side and the truth which is usually a combination of both sides stories + other facts not admitted by either side.

Treitz3 and RichP714, I will be contacting both of you as soon as I can dig up your contact information to discuss things. And hi to all of my other friends from the other Forum who are also members here.

PS: I do own Polk speakers; a pair of Monitor 20s, a pair of RTi-A1s and a PSW-505 subwoofer in addition to a pair of Martin Logan Sources, a pair of 3A Apog

Yep that part about the boys going to Florida to take care of things leaves a lot to wonder about. obviously there was a lot more going on than any of us was aware of. Good luck on the new site RichP I' lltry to browse over there tomorrow and get signed in.

Hey there Snarffydoggy! Nice to see you on here too. Yeah, there is/was a WHOLE lot more going on behind the scenes there that can't be revealed because all the proof of it has been lost along with the forum. Can't be starting rumors or inuendo that can't be proven, now can we?

Hey there DisneyJoe. From what I have been able to gather, the CarverAudio Administrators (who are in Florida) received threats of physical harm from a Forum member regarding some sort of issue over money owed for merchandise or services not received. See the "story" about this on what is left of the CarverAudio Forum.

I think it's safe to say our old forum is dead and buried due to the things that Obi mentioned.
We should drop the matter and let the parties involved handle it amongst themselves.

RichP has generously set up a new forum for us at his site

    I see you there.
No reason it can't be the same deal as the old one but maybe we'll treat each other a bit better.
I'll burn a CD of your choice if you take a quick look at my avatar and tell me who it is.

I like the setup of the site. I think there should be a forum button. I have been curious to what makes some of the older amps tick. I love to dabble in what makes things tick;)
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

The forum has been closed due to someone making numerous threats of coming to FL and bringing

Which manuals were they again Thall? If it was for the C-1, I'm still waiting for that one myself from the manuals guy on the old forum. I do have a whole bunch of manuals that I bought a few years ago that I am more than happy to share with anyone who asks. I should create a list of them so people can see if I have what they are looking for.

Ok Maxx... I don't care about your banker, whatever.

The phone conversation you and I had the other night was nothing short of a outright threat against my father of you coming to Cape Coral..
You also brought up the topic of your guns being bigger and badder than my fathers, MANY times. (get some help man)
You can clean it up, and smooth it over on here, but I listened to your hour and a half long threatening rant, I know what was said.

As I told you on the phone many times, I had no idea there was even an issue with your ribbons. I offered to try to help the situation by offering you 3 BRAND NEW ribbons from my personal inventory.
About $1,500 out of my own pocket, to help resolve this situation, and to help my father out.
Right after that I hear you mouthing off to other members about how you are going to bad mouth me on my own forum, as part of this clusterf**k...
As far as I'm concerned, you shot yourself in the foot there buddy. I am getting out of the middle of this, and the 2 of you can resolve the issue yourselves however you 2 see fit.

I am in no way making excuses for my father, and the time it has/is taking him. I however would have sent them back to you, the minute they arrived, after you were SPECIFICALLY told how to pack them... after which you said something to the effect of, They are already packed, and you weren't going to repack them again...
I saw the box, and the ribbons when they arrived, all 3 were stuck together, with a thin sheet of bubble wrap between them, which had been shredded to sh** by the nuts and bolts, which also gouged the faces of all 3 ribbons to the point of almost being worthless. Not to mention, the metal frames being bent to hell, because there was no padding at the ends. With them weighing around 80 pounds together, all in the same box, and being bounced, and slammed around from MI to FL, every single magnet had broken loose, and the majority of them now broken, adding another $3 per magnet to the cost of repairing them. With about 50 magnets per ribbon x3 ribbons, that's about $450 worth of magnets that have to be replaced...
Why not file a claim right?? What's the point, they would look at the packing job you did, and decline it anyway... He was going to be nice, and do the 5x extra work you created for him, buy not packing them correctly in the 1st place, the way he told you to.
With the personal issues he's having and the piss poor job you did packing the ribbons... I'm surprised he didn't just send them back to you. I would have.

The way I see it, you have a choice... Be patient and wait for him to fix them, or ask him to return them with a refund. Threats will get you nowhere.
From now on, keep me out of it, I regret ever trying to help you in this situation, and will not offer it again.

Below are photos of your ribbons when he opened the box.

    ________________________________________________________________________________________________

    OBi...

Yes I am SLOWWWWWWWWWWWW... we all know it...
But everyone also knows, I have never stolen a dime from anyone, and NO ONE (but Tom maybe) has put more time or $$ into everything CarverAudio/CarverFest than myself.
Bashing me won't make me any faster, (if anything, it will drag things out longer) but you can try it if you like, who knows.
Sorry I missed the $20 for shipping, I didn't see it, it must have been a separate payment, I'll go backand look for it, and refund that one as well.

    ________________________________________________________________________________________________

    To everyone else,
Thank you for all the positive emails, phone calls and words of encouragement.
We'll just have to see how this plays out...
