Not Polk but there's some Carver owners here.
Looks like the Carver forum has shut it's doors, maybe for good.
Kind of a shame, it was a fun site with lots of knowledgable members. They really helped me decide what to get in the way of upgrades.
Hope this is okay to post here, being non-Polk related.

Why? Too much time, money, effort to keep it going? I visited a few times....just too many other sites I visit to make it a permanent thing. That's too bad........as fun, knowledgable, passionate audio place are hard to find on the internet.
"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Well that sucks!
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

    Yeah, it does suck.
There were a few commitments that need to be resolved is why. It should all work out with a little effort and maybe us Carver guys won't be orphaned. Take care of some stuff and group hug time, probably!
Yes, Bob and Rita just opened a shop in Washington State to do Carver, Sunfire and tube gear, Rolland has his shop going which nobody ever had a bad word to say about and RichP has his Carver Mk.2 amp upgrade service.
We're covered as far as service which is a great thing.

I don't know how much it takes to keep a simple forum going, but it seems like it would be low time/money. It's a shame, but you Carver guys are always welcome here! :D

With the small amount of bandwidth they had, I couldn't imagine it being expensive to host. Worst case scenario, they could ask the membership to chip in a few dollars.

And closing a internet forum due to threats of violence, lame? There has to be more to it than that.

If we do that for you, then we would have to set up a section for the Emotiva guys, then the McIntosh hoard would want their own section...Oppo too. Next thing you know there would be a Monster/Bose contingent....and the whole thing goes to hell.

I don't know about that. Any one of these Bose fans coming out of the woodwork could become violent at any time! Amar sends out telepathic messages to the flock telling them to attack

I'm curious as to what in the world of Carver would even warrant the possibility of physical violence (?!?!?!) I was a member there but hadnt been there in a dog's age.

I wouldn't want you to get absorbed by the Bose Wave Radio crowd, I hear they're even more violent than the Carver guys.

Yep I tried to log on to the Carver forum yesterday afternoon, and it said it was down for maintenance. Tried again this morning and couldn't logon. Tried later and saw the message closed indefinately due to threats. I never heard of any rumblings of anybody making threats and can't really see what in the world anybody would be making threats about.:confused::confused::confused:
