To Megasat16> Did you take all those speakers out of different set ups in other rooms for a photo? You can't possibly be running all of them together?

No! I have all these speakers in the room for all the whole time and not moved at all. These speakers are not put together for the sake of pictures to show off. This is my actual HT and occasionally music room.

I have 2 channel setup in a different room which is not in these pictures.

Yes, I run all of them for HT. Occasionally, I use 2 LSi25s and 2 PSW1000 for Rock Music or Acoustics. If I need more punch in the low end, there are subs to handle in this room where my 2 channel can't possibly match it. For multi-channel music DVD, this is the room I use.

For critical 2 channels classical listening, I have another room with good gears to enjoy.

Why do you have surround speakers up front then?
Is everything connected to something? How do you switch between different speakers and amps? It doesn't appear that you have much room to do anything there.

Do you have 8 subs running at once?

I have Sanus SF stands for my LSi9's. They have rubber bumpers to prevent scratches. Yet I am paranoid about the underside of the LSi 9's that I put a couple layers of speaker cloth underneath. Now the speakers/stands look like they have a cape. Perhaps fossy is doing the same thing.

LOOKING GOOD and much better from your previous pic with your old tv stand :D Your LSI speakers made your HT center more contemporary!

Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate that. I keep that old picture of my older setup to remind me that despite not being able to upgrade as fast as I want ($$) I have come along way in 3 years when I started with that old CRT TV, that ugly stand and nothing else not even a DVD player at the time. The pic with the older stand was taken a couple days after recieving my LSi25s from a former polk member ... one of the better purchases Ive made, though it started the cascade of purchases that are necessary with LSis (seperate amplification, matching center, more amplification, better wires).

Good luck with your audio journey.

Thanks Montoya, however Sanford and Son was before my time so Im not sure what you mean. I looked it up on Wikpedia what Sanford and Son's was about and it suggested that Sanford got himself in trouble by starting bright ideas that get him into trouble ... which the LSis certainly can do when you are not prepared to invest the bucks into it. More trouble is still to be had as I dont have a decent audio player (dedicated CDP or SACD player), stand alone higher end Bluray player, or seperate pre-amp :D

You must be talking about the above system, surely you are not talking about my modest system that only has three polk items (Lsi25s and a LSiC). But if you are ... my system runs very smoothly though I need to get a few more pieces that take the load off of my PS3 which doesnt get me a audio-phile badge :o:)

Do you mind my asking, Megasat, why you stopped using the LSi7s? Apart from the 7s you seem to be pretty inclusive, speaker-wise.

Just that I ran out of space to put it even if I want to. And I also need to hook up another 2 channel amp for it too. So, I stopped using it and no other reason. It's a very sweet little Lsi and makes an excellent bookshelf for some 2 ch audio. I still have it packed in box and keeping it to use somewhere.

To some readers, I didn't rob any Polk Store or anyone else store for my polk speakers....They are a gift from Matt Polk to me! It's just that I have to send a check to Matt for these gifts which SUCKS! :o

Matt, Are you reading this? Where is my last year X-mas Gift? Just Kidding!

Time for an intervention fellow polkies. He needs to sell these extra speakers, fast and on the cheap. This man needs saving - come on we can't just sit by and let him suffer elike this...

Just browsing old threads and was wondering on the sound of your iPod/amp hooked directly to your lsi 9's. Was thinking about a small budget bedroom setup like this with maybe a wadia.

Is that Oak or Maple , looks like Maple to me. Either way they are something I tried to tell polk they should have offered , I could have moved many more pairs , the black and Cherry don't always work out in most houses.

Mantis, they are the original Cherry finish--definitely more Oak-like than the current Cherry finish. More texture, not super smooth like the current version. I'll see if I can find a link to another post that has some more pics along with some comparison shots and discussion of the different finishes.
Not sure what wood it actually is, but it sure did look/feel the same as the Ebony version (just a diff color obviously).

Leroy, I didn't do too much listening when I had it setup like this, but it still sounded really good. Even though the speakers weren't toed in or the proper distance apart, and actually too high up technically, it still sounded really good surprisingly.
IIRC, this was from pretty early on the road to my 2 channel obsession. Wasn't long after this that I got the Dodd ELP in the mix and then the SB Duet, DAC and so on....

I did something similar at my office at work where I had a set on a table across from my desk with an HCT 13w(?) tube hybrid. I was able to work with the toe-in and distance apart a little more. I thought it sounded great--of course I couldn't crank it with that amp, but I was in an office setting and had to watch the volume anyway, but anybody that heard it was impressed.

Does the Wadia also perform Preamp duties?
