    Thanks for that post, BigMac.

And Shack, I hope that you decide to stick around this thread. As a certified financial "Don't Know Squat"-ologist, I enjoy hearing the views of an "insider" (for lack of a better word).

Now, that doesn't mean you'll be right all the time (that'd be the way to bet, though), but at least we get some perspective from someone that's in the middle of the fray, so to speak.

Who the heck else am I going to ask my dumb questions to ? :o

Right, what I"m saying is government funded foreign aid in 2007 was 27 billion dollars. Of course, that's what was classified as "foreign aid".

PRIVATELY (non-government) funded foreign aid was 250 billion.
In any case, whatever the actual allocation of the $27B was (which does seem like a lot, though), I doubt that it is enough to help much with the magnitude of our current economic woes. I'm not expecting much good news between now and the end of the year.

    DON'T LEAVE SHACK!!!

This discussion & forum desparately NEEDS the knowledge the you actually KNOW! I'll take your real knowledge over any of these WOULD BE constitutional scholars any day of the week & twice on Sundays!

Tony, if today's generation has a 'it's all about ME attitude', then you need to blame the parents that raised them.

At the end of the day, it ALWAYS comes back to how good or how pooly people have been raised. And my generation and the ones that came after did a piss poor job of it! I don't know why but we did.

Then you are an exception and not the rule Joe & should be proud.

There aren't too many that know nowadays how to bring up a well mannered responsible kid.

But then since they themselves aren't, they wouldn't know how to raise one would they?

Are you coming to PF Joe? If so, I look forward to meeting you!

^It would be a good start.^ The only reason I'm a Tool over the banking system is that we, as a country, aren't in control of our own money. We would need reestablish control of it prior to circling the wagons, or our entire money and financial system is at risk.

Shack, I apologize if I was a Tool, but I do stand by my statements.

What you want is impossible, not to mention unrealistic. That was the same attitude by Congress in 1930 that took a Great Crash and turned it into a Great Depression, which some say with well-researched reason, precipitated WWII.

    Woont be prudint.

dragging Euro and Asian markets to storng rises.
what triggered it? the Euro government's approved bail out program
exceeds one Trillion (not kidding) EURO, which is twice what the US spends.
