Hey John, Do I mock you for the way you do your IT work? No? Ok, then you might want to back off when discussing something you know very little about m'kay sport? Thanks!
Sorry I don't want to start going through the detailed analysis for everyone but I do have real work to do...
I thought he was agreeing with you? I dunno, could be wrong.

Oh yes, a common internet reference to a mentally handicapped child working at Burger King means agreeing with someone, thanks for the edumacation!
Might you see the confusion? There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin -

Sorry but for years on every other forum I've gone to, the reference was not to a mentally handicapped person working at a fast food restaurant. It's a reference to the positive result of the fries being done and the finality of the statement. Ding! Fries are done is essentially saying "That's the answer, right there, no further discussion required.
I'm not the first one to use it here and obviously not the only one the gets the reference.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

If anything, buying pharmaceutical or alcohol stock is a great idea considering how we as a people generally act when we are faced with the truth. Some will rise above and make it but the "pack mentality" is where the real problem lies. From the time we wake up till the time we go to bed we are bombarded with how "bad" everything is.......we are filled with impending doom. So what do we do instead of fixing the issue.....we take a drink or pill to feel better. Got an ache-here is a pill, depressed-here is a pill,tv channel a little fuzzy-here is a pill, and the same for alcohol. Heck, the general feeling that everyone is carrying around is one of uncertainty about their financial future, job security, and how to pay off all that accumulated debt. Debt and depression go hand in hand. I don't know anyone that is happy to be losing money left and right so I believe people are going to look for escapes from reality. Had a bad day at work-take a drink, family life hard-take a drink, and so on.
Instead of people pulling their normal "it's not in my backyard so why do anything about it" everyone that usually burys their head in the sand or up their **** needs to see this as kind of a rebirth/wake up call. Still buy the things you need but not the excess items that you have no money for. We needed a BIG lesson to remind/teach us the value of a dollar and to see that it does not go very far in todays market. All I can say for me is I chose one hell of a time to catch the audio bug, let alone catch upggraditis.
I personally feel like my family is going to be just fine based on the decisions my wife and I have made in the past regarding or financial security. Hell, I have to go buy a car next week because my 1992 Subaru is on its last leg so to speak. Now if I was do dip into my available funds I could afford alot of materialistic crap, but it's just that in the long run, crap. Ever since the apartment I lived in about 5 years ago almost burned to the ground and took my family with it I have reevaluated my life priorities. I don't care if I lose every materialistic thing I have or will ever have personally. You can't take it with you and at the end of the day all I really need is my family. My wife and kids are the first thing I think about when I wake in the morning and the last thing I think about before I go to sleep. I feel like I won a lottery everyday of my life now because I chose to put value on my family instead of materialistic crap I never needed in the first place.
Our forefathers were careful about what kind of monetary future they were leaving us BUT a few select very powerful men changed their vision into one of greed. When money is the main motivational factor rational thought is thrown out the window. Just look at the state of our current economic situation. We can thank the bankers, out belief in G.W. Bush and him saying to "buy" (when we still had some faith in him....to an extent) and our media as well as other things. We as a people have lost the ability to think for ourselves and speak up for fear of being singled out and ridiculed. So, what do we do, stick our head in the sand and pretend it is not happening. I think this election could not have come at a better time in our current crisis. It is a "window" into what is really going on in our country. Everyone and I mean everyone is "glued" to current affairs and wondering how it is going to effect them now that they feel the pinch in their wallet.
Our future is gloomy at best if we continue to do things as we do now. If you do the same things you WILL get the same results......no matter how pretty you package them up and try and sell them. Like one of the Rockefellers said, I don't care who is in office-they don't have any power, it's the ones with the money, they make all the rules. We as a country are broken and divided. Only in times of complete and utter despair when most hope is lost and we are in our darkest hour do we realize our mistakes........when are we going to learn from the past and effect positive change?????? We will never learn and you know why, we let others think and act for us. We elect these morons to be "in charge" so if they are not doing what they say then kick em' to the curb. ****, if someone here at CP breaks the rules there is almost no tolerence for it at all (I know first hand). The mighty bolt of CP strikes the offenders down with a quick and fierce blow before any further offenses can be commited again. I think we as a Nation need to act the same way when we see our future being f'd up by greed of a few. Smack em' with the **** stick and be done with it and then move on.
If we continue to approach our government and financial issues with kid gloves then we are doomed to repeat this cycle forever. We need to think outside the box, or at least for ourselves and stop letting others dictate what, when, and where things are going to happen. You would not let a stranger come over to your home and take all your high end gear and give you whatever cheap crap they wanted right......so why let the government or our media basically do the same thing.
We need to refocus. What do I mean, well we need to reevaluate our priorities. We need to move away from defining ourselves my materialistic possesions and how fat our bank accounts are. We need to stop trying to out do each other and start working together toward a common goal......humility and humanity. We need to remember what it is to be human and feel again. We are so "numb" to what we hear and see in everyday life and on the news it's not even funny. You hear all the bad things on the news like murder, rape, kidnapping and we don't even bat an eye for the most part unless it is in your neighbourhood, city, or affected your family. We need a lesson on how to reconnect to reality and this current economic and political situation is just what we as a Nation needed as a wake up call. We need to change the ways of the "ruling class" or we will follow in the footsteps of the Roman Empire. Nothing lasts forever and never has it been more evident than now.
The powers that be hope to keep the good ol' US of A down and out but we can overcome these obstacles if we start working together for a common goal.....become independent on many different levels. While we are wondering if we will have a job tomorrow, how we will pay our bills and what the furure may hold for us, there are other parts of the world that are flourishing off our "dependency" for certain things. You could say that New York city is or was the greatest city on Earth right. If you look at Dubai you can start to see the BIG picture. Everwonder why all our jobs are going overseas......money, plain and simple. It all boils down to money. We as Americans "think" we are entitled to it and we are not in any shape or form. And while we bury our heads in the sand the ones that want it are taking it at a record pace. 10 billion per month on a war, oil that we pay any price for, and where is all this money going.......the UAE and the elite. Looks like my grandkids can say Dubai is the greatest city on Earth if we continue in this vain. -

From what I saw on Cavuto, Britain nationalized their banks today. And Sir Richard Branson hinted at ANOTHER major American bank tanking real soon.

It's called research, Shack. Working for a bank does not make you an expert on the history of Central Banking or the Constitutional measures taken to prevent them. I won't claim to be either, but I have done the research. It also isn't an indictment against you personally. I know medium sized bank owners that knew next to nothing. They knew how to operate within the guidelines, but little else. It's not something that is included in any curriculum, and most believe what they are told and move on. It's a misconception similar to people thinking that banks lend money, instead of what really happens, which is entirely different. Tell them the truth Shack. Tell them that there is no money until the bank creates it. . . or did you not know? There may be a small fraction of the loan amount in reserve money at the Fed, but for all intents and purposes -the bank does not lend money. It waves a wand, creates it out of nothing, then demands interest. It does this over and over, and in a world of perfect exchanges, a 1000$ deposit at the Fed can magically create $100,000 in loans for the bank. For basic math purposes, say that 100K loan brings in 600$ per month (mortgage) in interest. That's a 60% interest rate when you look at the reserve of 1000$ required to create that amount in loans. Yeah, that's not usury.
Below is quote from Representative Louis T. McFadden, Chairman of the Committee on Banking and Currency for 12 years as quoted from the Congressional Record
"The Federal Reserve Board, ..., has cheated the Government of the United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the national debt...Our people's money to the extent of $1,200,000,000 has within the last few months been shipped abroad to redeem Federal Reserve Notes and to pay other gambling debts of the traitorous Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks...."
Think it's not privately owned? US Fed owners: More foreign that domestic. It makes sense if you look at our policy since the Fed creation, and the Federal Tax, which incidentally both started in 1913.

None of what's happening is good for us. Whether you call it a recession, a downturn in the economy, a depression or whatever. We are embarking on unknown territory here. History is being made, and not the good kind.
Let's say just for talking or healthy debating, that we suspend most of the Foreign aid that we give to other countries from our national budget for a year and pump it back into our economy somewhere. There may have to be a few exclusions here. An act like this would obviously piss off a lot of 3rd world countries, but I don't like the USA sliding down to become a 3rd world country.

EFF what countries we piss off. Most hate us anyway. One of our political parties is overly concerned with whether we are liked or not which is weakness as far as I'm concerned.

^It would be a good start.^ The only reason I'm a Tool over the banking system is that we, as a country, aren't in control of our own money. We would need reestablish control of it prior to circling the wagons, or our entire money and financial system is at risk.

27 billion in 2007.

Right, what I"m saying is government funded foreign aid in 2007 was 27 billion dollars. Of course, that's what was classified as "foreign aid".

This country needs a healthy dose of that, even if it has to be shoved down its throat.
Good advice.....too bad today's generation is all about what they can get for free from the government.I look back at my parents, grandparents, and realize the sacrafices they made for their childrens future.Mention that today and you get a dirty look.My father used to say if you can't buy something with cash, then you can't afford it.Think about it.......for so long we as a country have been prodded to spend ,spend, spend,it's good for the economy, and made it too easy for people to spend money they didn't have. You take all that bogus paper out of the market, and this today is whats left.Sure there's other factors involved, but George Grand simply breaks it down to the basics. Now if we can only get our elected officials to do the same......!!HT SYSTEM-
