No wonder you blown the XIII. Don't push 2hard more than 9psi.

actually with a bigger turbo, you can afford to run more boost without detonation b/c it does not blow hot air like the smallish stockies when they are out of their efficient range...25psi with convervative timing/afr is possible. slight lag on the low end...when its spooled, its gone :D

The keyword was "easily" as I am not that familiar with the 2l on the EVO. 20psi all day long on pump gas should still be in the realms of reliable performance. 34psi is possible but if you keep running it continuously you are bound to face some reliability issues.

It's definitely a sexy car. I've been looking forward to its release. I've been driving it a lot on GT5: Prologue too.

One question... did you consider the Corvette Z06? If so, what changed your mind to the Nissan? If not, why the hell not? For me, even though I'm not a domestic fan in general, it's a lot more car for $70k.

GTR will keep value better than Vette.

True, it will because it's a Nissan over a Chevy. But, how many actually buy a car based on resale value? I don't even consider it when buying.

True. I could care less what the resale value is on my Audi. I bought it with the full intention of driving it until I have to call a tow truck to pull its lifeless body out of my driveway many years down the road.

Then again I have friends that are CONSTANTLY trading in cars. Less than a year or 2 old, and its already being swapped out for something else. I guess they'd be interested in resale value...

it will bag, or keep up with, pretty much anything on your list, for a 1/2 the cost.

It looks like to be a $120k or more, so not exactly a bargain.

Thanks Tony, the car has always been a dream car for me as well. I do consider myself lucky for this and many other blessings that have come my way.

We have run the cobra up on c116 and 30 lbs of boost. The dyno showed ridiculous numbers but the car was totally undriveable, like driving on ice any time you slammed it. The best set up has been about 7.5 lbs on c110. Dyno showed 598 rwhp and 570 torque. With the boost all the way up it was over 1100 rwhp on a mustang 1100. A lot of wheel slip, it was pretty intimidating in such a small car. Nothing like a funny car but way beyond my ability to drive.
MY ultimate dream luxury car is the DB7.... not too pretentious with great performance...wow. Way out of my price range though.

I'm just trying to figure out when, where, why and how anyone would think Nissan isn't a well built automoblile. Ya'll probably wouldn't say anything about it if it had the Infiniti badge on it. The GTR/Skylines have a huge following throughout the world and are known as some of the baddest cars around....especially for the duckets. It's just the first time they will be sold in the U.S.A..

I've owned 12 Z-cars over the years and the last one had over 300k miles on the drivetrain, that had never been opened up. Just Mobil 1 and belts, hoses, plugs, wires, and filters.

O so true in every way. Nissan cars/trucks are built to last. Having them make cars like this is a true blessing. Look up any other sprots car and find the trail of problems you will. The Skyline is a dream come true to fan of the orignal, and I'm one of them. I heard about this 2 years ago and have been slowly waiting on it. I basically forgot all about it when the gas prices started to go crazy and my love for cars was almost lost. This car all by itself has pumped the boold back into my heart with passion for the sports car. I didn't think I could feel this way again. Even my strong love for BMW wasn't enough. This Nissan did it.

I'm so looking forward to test driving one.

Sorry Dan, it doesn't get my blood pump'n. Too boxy looking, it might look better a bit more rounded off. The front fenders look like squared off ones from the RX-8 and she has a funky looking flat ****. I do like the way the front fender transitions into the door.

I agree about the funky fender transition into the door, otherwise it's pretty sexy.

It looks very Japanese. very. It's hardly what I would consider a blood pumping Silhouette.
but I actually respect Nissan for that design. It proves they have a lot of confidence in their car.
The statement they're making is: "Yup, that thing that just overtook you is a Nissan alright, can your car top that?"

BTW, I gotta find the link at home. Saw a video with the designer of the Gran Turismo games. It was an interview/road test between the Skyline GTR and a Ford GT, which is the designer's most favoritest car of all time. The Ford GT spanked the GTR. Not badly but it did beat it soundly. I saw it on YouTube. I would go get the link but YouTube is blocked at work. I think it comes in a search if you do a search on Ford GT vs Nissan GTR. It was actually pretty interesting.

But then again, here is an article from Jeremy Clarkson on the GTR:

He also has a commentary column at the The Times Online.

    Wrong.

    Magnum P.I. drive a Ferrari 308.

That is an F355. Almost 20 years newer. Plus, way more potent and the precursor to the F360 which was the followed by the F430.
