I traded my preamp in and am selling my sub . . .:( Does anyone else burn through equipment like this? I put about 300 good listening hours on the pre. In the end, the BC pre3 could not do what I've heard tubes do.

Two good moves...don't worry about it. We will always be here to support your addiction.

Now go get yourself a tube pre, a sweet musical sub, and a beer.

I go through gear just as quickly / more quickly than probably anyone else here. Don't feel badly about your gear attrition! Just get good deals on everything so you don't feel guilty for buying / selling so often.

I'd say I buy something new 2-3 times a month. Some gets used for a while, some gets sold on again pretty quickly. No regrets :)
Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
Bedroom: Samsung HPR-4252, Toshiba HD-A2, HK 3480, Signal Cable, AQ speaker cable, Totem Dreamcatchers, SVS PB10-NSD, URC MX-850

Not exactly. More like you meet a girl, fall in love, tell all your friends how amazing she is and how she is the one...then get with her best friend.

I used to own the AZs. They are great speakers. I kept them for quite a while in terms of my own equipment turnover rate. That being said, I bought mine used for $2400. For that price they are great. For their, normally asking price, I think they are a little expensive.

The Emmy's are in another league. The AZs can't compete in any category in my opinion. Not even clarity and low distortion which of course they are noted for.

I own all of Keb Mo's CDs. All of them are Excellent. That being said, I started off with the CD below and believe it is one of his best.

I own many Marc Cohn albums as well. This one is a good recording and has many of his greatest songs.

This CD blew my mind. I think I first heard of Kodo recently after reading a thread started by EarlyB looking for some good drum music. This is the only CD I own and have heard of Kodo, but it is really good.

    Solid

I bought these three CD and enjoyed them. I forgot to tell you. I gotta tell you Kodo was the best. That rumbling bass and beat, wow. My wife really likes Keb Mo.

    Thanks again

Coming in late to this one.... did you ever find your test tones for the bass??

If you still need them - they can be found here....

Nice setup you have - how would you describe the sound? Is there any other speaker you have heard with a similar tone? (i.e. I would say paradigm and B&W both sound similar, but neither is to my taste. Good bet though that if you like one, you will like the other.....)

I know this is an older thread - just wondering if you have made any changes to the system since the thread started (considering the title and all)?

    Enjoy,

    Michael
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

My current System is as follows:

    Emmy CS2s
Four Odyssey Khartago Monoblocks with full SE mods. The Highs have the new black boards and the lows have the original Red Boards.

The Berhinger is fed by a Dodd Battery Pre.

I'm a little uncertain what my future two channel source will be, but I'm currently running the following:

    Bryston BCD-1

MHDT Havana DAC/Consonance DAC16 with SB Duet. (eventually looking to replace one of these DACs with a new model coming from Peachtree Audio.)

Playstation 3 (for fun, this is staying, but definitely is improved by either DAC)

Finally, I sold my PS Audio PPP because I thought my system didn't need the clean power. This is somewhat true at night in my apartment because no elevators or other appliances are generally in use around my building. But lately, I've been listening much more during the day and am picking up all kinds of bad power from everywhere. It sucks. So, for the first time ever, I repurchased a piece of gear . . . a new PS PPP . . . this time a black one.
