Damn bubba, did'ja win the lottery or something? Nice system.

Q: Doesn't your SVS placement resonate the TV chasis? I would think this is less than ideal?

Sorry, but why does all that stuff have to be so low to the floor? Who wants to get on their hands and knees to change a CD?

    What are those funky speakers?

This would never pass any WAF scrutiny, that's for sure.

I would love that system. . . until I got drunk and took out the Raysonic, Power Plant, 360, and PS2 while trying to change the TV channel cuz I broke the remote.

    But, that's just me.

I'm able to turn off all the channels from the Behringer and only hear the sub. There is no rattling other than a little bit from my walls at high volumes. The placements is great because the bass is distributed quite evenly. It actually sounds like it is only coming from the speakers.

My joints are still good so getting down on my knees is no issue. I really like the layout actually because the Raysonic is only about 4 ft from where I sit. Not to mention because it's top loading it's nice and easy to access. Also, I like being able to see all my gear on display.

There's no other use for that room other than audio so it's just that system, some Gik acoustics and a couch. Plenty of room really. The room is 18L X 16W X 15H anyway so I got plenty or room to move. My girlfriend actually thinks the speakers look really cool, so hopefully when she becomes my wife the GAF will equal the WAF.

Nice setup but I couldn't handle stuff being on the floor...and I'm single so no WAF to worry about, either.

LOL! That's what I was thinking. My gear needs to be up and away from the floor or its likely to get kicked, stepped on, tripped on, etc. Doesn't take more than a couple drinks for me to get klutzy. Not to mention, my 18 month old son would be jumping up and down on that Raysonic. :D

No kidz and no pets to tamper with this system . . . I do some regular drinking around it but so far everything has made it threw the blur unscathed. I got a nice path from the system to my couch.

Awesome gear!! You just need a nice flat screen TV and a better sub, then you're done.

I got the sub for an excellent deal. Honestly, it melds ridiculously well. The bass is really tight. The Cylinder sub really is way more musical than other SVS box subs. I like it for now. Besides, most of the time I turn the sub off for 2 channel because the Bass from the Emmys is more than enough.

Does that get hot? I know the old ones use to get real hot because they were so inefficient. And are those tri-traps in the corners?

    Looks great.

I'm really digging the speaker cable "stands", haha.

Not sure how I feel about the looks of the speakers, but I would love to get my ears on em.

It doesn't get hot at all. Only about as warm as a A/B Class amp might get like an Odyssey. No Tri-Traps. I got a really good deal on some GIK 244s. I stacked two on top of each other to stand about 8 ft. tall in the corners. Works great.

Yeah, the speaker cable stands are my own little DIY job. The tweeter posts are supposed to be strong enough to support the weight of the thick cable but I didn't want to chance it.

I also want to give props to Frank Dai for taking the time and having the patience to put those little connectors on his Ultra Cables.

    Very nice Mike.

I actually like the look of everything spread out on the floor. I could consider some drapes for the windows though, don't those things rattle at high volumes? :D

I'd love to try out a pair of those CS2's one day.

    Thanks a lot Face.

The weight of the GIK Acoustic Panels pressed up against the blinds keep them quiet. As far as drapes, I listen mostly later in the day and at night so sun is never really a problem. I took these pictures in the morning when the sun hits directly on my windows. After noon the sun is above or on the other side of my apartment building so everything is good.

Did you set this up in stages or in one shot? I'm curious to know how your treatments affected the presentation. I have several traps and have noticed a significant improvement. I think I may need that monster bass trap GIK has, maybe 2 for my room.

Will it be out next issue? I've really been waiting for a magazine to provide a good write-up. Make sure you tap the speaker wire onto the tweeters themselves if you can. I'd like to read what you think of the difference between the binding posts and the direct connection. My experience is that the sound is extraordinarily improved (not that they didn't already sound phenomenal).

Just replace the truck subwoofers with Gallos and you will be ok. :)

Well if by stages do you mean trying tons of different speakers and amps, then yes. But, the majority of the system aside from the cabling and the sub were all bought from underwood hifi all at once. I added the PPP a little later. I orginally had a Monster HT3500 MKII.

The GIK treatments are critical in my system. I notice a distinct tightness in bass with their presence as well as just an easier more pleasurable mid range. The highs are excellent.

What brand are your mains? They look very cool. How do you like the single driver, x-overless approach compared to multi drivers? I'm thinking about getting in to them and want to add more to my list if they're in my price range. So far I've got my eyes on some Omega models. I first heard a single driver at the dealer months ago and fell in love with the sound.

Kick **** system you got there.

Oh man . . . these are definitely not single driver speakers. Behind the black fabric in each speaker is two 15" drivers. They are Emerald Physics CS2s.
