I'm pretty sure that someone that bids at the last minute wants them and there was no reserve so they are most likely sold to never be heard from again.

Correct. Even though these speakers have been "Sold" a few times. They always end up on ebay a few days later with some lame excuse or a new user name and the same pictures and description.
