Nothing is taking place at Mark's house.

So how's it going to work this time? Polk HQ is providing a place to set-up rigs, etc. Probably asking this question too early on in the planning stage. :).

No setting up of rigs at HQ either. It's being worked out, and you will all know what the goings downs are for Saturday say by, Friday afternoon sometime at HQ. There will be other festivities, but the location is to remain undisclosed (for now at least).

    Cheers,
    Russ

    AYE!

I've already locked in Thursday and Friday as vacation at work. We're still 7 months away, but i'm planning on making myself available to assist some of you flying into BWI by picking you up and getting you to your rental car, hotel or whatever. Standing at any airport trying to get a taxi or shuttle is the biggest pain in the ****!
    No excuses!

Nothing that has been relayed to me. The last time folks had more success on their own as the hotels Polk gets for VIP's are downtown and not cheap....even at corporate rates. That would also depend on a block of rooms for a committed set of people and everyone comes in at different times.

If I've learned anything in my years here, its that Polkies are unreliable when traveling.

I would suggest looking on your own and asking about locations amongst us locals for "approval" or recommendations.

If a group of ppl start discussing coming in at the same time, that's fine but Polk isn't the travel agent. I haven't seen much discussion amongst anyone so far.

I'll do some searching for hotels in the area convenient to BWI and Polk HQ's, but one I just checked was the Holiday Inn Express near BWI. Before getting boned in the rear with taxes and fees, it's $109 per night. Most of the Airport area hotels are going to be higher. I'll check near Arundel Mills Mall as there are a slew of them there. It's fairly close to BWI and very near some major highways. The Mall itself is really sweet!

If you guys have a GPS device (Garmin, Tom Tom, etc...) then bring it with you. Polk HQ's is pretty easy to get to off the highway (I-695).

I'll email the one legged pirate, Peg-Leg Doro, and let him know what I've come up with.

it would be great to get some suggestions from the Baltimore local Polkies for those of us traveling and needing a hotel/motel to stay in. within a reasonable distance from Polk HQ. I know what i can afford per night, but I'm not always sure what the level of the place is or the level of that part of town.

so any local polkies willing to offer some suggestions on say medium priced rooms? Say in the range of $60 to $90-ish.

I'd be willing to share a room with someone too if anyone is interested. Knowing of course that between now and Oct, things could change, but for now. All is a go.

I would suggest that everyone stay near BWI airport for ease of ingress/egress from the area to go home and coordination of the sharing of rental cars.

I hope that some of you have used the internet or traveled before but I'll HIGHLIGHT some places for you to use in your search in the main thread. I wouldn't stay near Polk HQ because the area is less than stellar....but maybe your adventurous.

Did a search and could not find a hotel below $100 in Baltimore. We need some ips from the locals.
