    Yeah, they usually just announce one week in advance (on Fridays). I typically have the songs posted here soon after, and video previews by 10pm central. There is also a rumored or unconfirmed thread on rockband.com, with links to artists saying that they were recently licensed for RB or GH (like Devo, Turbonegro, Sublime, Testament, and Def Leppard).

    I stoked for next week! In addition to the Pixies' Doolittle album, HMX announced they are releasing three songs from Weezer's new album!

    Weezer Pack 01:

    Dreamin' (Master)
    The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (Master)
    Troublemaker (Master)

    All three tracks will be available individually for $1.99 (or 160 Microsoft Points) or as a pack for $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points).

    Could someone explain to me how I can get these add-ons. I have a Playstation 2 and have never down load anything for it or played on line. I am an old guy that needs some help. Thanks.

    Unfortunately the PS2 and Wii versions don't support downloadable songs. However Harmonix will be releasing expansion discs that you can buy to expand your music catalog. I believe the first disc with 25-30 songs will be out soon.

    So I get back from the USA on a long business trip, get back and fire up the drums. Download Justice for all by Metallica, start playing the song and crack, my drum pedal shot. I ordered the new pedal from ebay so I should be good to go next week. Fooking sux..................and reportedly many people have the same issue.
    Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

    I've broken my drum pedal...three times. Harmonix has replaced them, though.

    and yes, I have a lead foot. :p

    I broke one pedal. It crack near the bottom hinge. The replacement pedal is beefier and I haven't had any issues with it in around 2 months. EA is getting stricter on instrument replacement now though. You'll want to keep your receipt and it is only going to be a 60 warranty starting in September I think.

    Also, in gigantic news, Rock Band 2 was officially announced today! Instruments will be improved in design and have new features, and the cryptically worded "more instrument choices" will be clarified at E3. They are saying it is the best selection of songs for any music game and all tracks will be masters. And the best news, all DLC will play in either RB1 or RB2! September release for 360 and shortly thereafter for other consoles.

    I just picked this up for the 360 on Saturday. All I've got to say is it completely destroys Guitar Hero (though I have yet to even try the guitar). Drums all day, baby.
    I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down.     We played with the family last night, and I've gotta say....
    Seeing my dad sing along to Lords of the Underworld was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen. He had NO idea what it even was. Effin' priceless.

    More Rock Band 2 songs are confirmed in the new Game Informer magazine. I am adding vids for them now on the first post. Also they have pics of the new instruments, including a premium drum kit from Ion, that is the coolest thing you can imagine! :D

    I am freaking out!!!

    Edit: And you can take a photo of your band and order t-shirts and bumper stickers for your band! And "action figures" rofl!

    More edit: And there's a jukebox mode, so you can listen to all the songs in the game without having to play them, and it will have the concert type cutscenes while it plays. So cool!

    I played both the SOAD songs on guitar at hard last night. They seemed way too easy to be considered hard.

    Maybe you should do expert then! :D

    I didn't try guitar or bass on any of the songs, although I heard the bassline for the Sixx AM song is supposed to be fun. I did vocals and drums for all of them though.

    So who got the Roadrunner Pack? Okay first off I am pissed because Opeth in not in that pack. How do you not add a group that made it to 23 on the US billboard charts. 23!! For a Swedish death metal band! And their new album uses less growls. 4 songs have no growls at all!!

    OKay I am done pissing and moaning. I did get Dream Theaters Constant Motion, and Killswitch Engage My curse. Both songs are excellent, and I would have preferred if Harmonix would have left the screams intact for My Curse.

    BTW- Constant Motion is a beast on the drums.

    I got everything (of course) and it was great. I played all six songs on drums medium or hard, guitar, and vox. I had the most on vocals for Machine Head and Devildriver, even though they were mostly talkies. I love heavy vocals! Megadeth and Dream Theater were both very tough on drums and guitar. Airborne was fun on guitar. Killswitch was good all the way around. I really wasn't familiar with the Devildriver song going in so I wasn't looking forward to it, but I liked it a lot. There is also an audio interview posted on RockBand.com with DT's Mike Portnoy. Turns out he and his son play the game, although he does guitar for it. So I expect we will be seeing even more DT besides Panic Attack on RB2!

    eh, some of their songs are ok, but i don't think i'll be downloading the whole album.
