Not sure when I am getting them. As soon as I hear back on how much shipping will be I can then put that enormous amount in my PayPal account. I am in a great mood today, nice and sunny here in NC. Oh you little Monkey woman, you wore green today!!

Just a quote from Caddy Schack, never mind. Here is the email I got from the seller of the Mon 10s.
I received a quote for professionally packing and shipping your item. I included removing the tweeters and midrange speakers and wrapping and double-boxing them separately. putting protective corners on all speakers and shipping all three boxes via UPS ground. The total was $120 and I will include the invoice for this in the shipment, bringing your PayPal transfer to $420.00. -
Mike, just a simple double box with alot of bubble wrap, wouldnt do the job? Thats $60 a speaker. Maybe someone else can chime in, but I think thats alittle steep..Monitor 7b's front

You'd be surprised what a professional packing store charges. Their services are very expensive but generally they do an outstanding job and the product is insured beyond what you normally would get with a typical UPS/FEDEX drop off place.
I use 2 different shippers. One is a #1 rated (by our community) Postal/Packing shop with top notch CS and then I use Office Depot.
I pack all my own stuff unless I just can't because of the item. I sent two identical items within a couple weeks to the West coast. Office Depot was $8.55 and the professional Pack-n-Ship was $18.27 for the same package which I packed myself. So it is possible this is what it costs."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -

I agree, have them professionally packaged. Four drivers would cost you $200ish....
Enjoy your speakers Mike._________________________________________________

Thanks, I will be eating PB and J for a while!!!!!

Congrats on the snag Mike. Too bad you had to go out on a limb (money wise) to win 'em though. But heck, even as Mon-10s go they're, err, ah, practically antiques! Sometimes you pay more for antiques don't ya know.
FWIW: With what you have in the speaks alone, it's certainly hard to spend another c-note + on shipping but there's a catch there. You certainly don't need/want to receive damaged/broken merchandise either by going cheap here. You're going the smart route in my book. -
Thanks Bob thats what I figured, want to get them here in the condition I paid for them.
As for the money, in for a penny, in for a pound -
Yes and the sl1000 are the silver plated that has PolkAudio on them.
My clear ones say:
Polk Audio
Silver Coil Dome
So I assume that these are still the sl2000 ones and the ones with the black dome are the sl1000 ones.
