Are you sure? The ad states the shipping price is for (1) speaker. Perhaps you worked something out with the seller :)

    Mike we picking on u.

You will enjoy those speakers very much. You can also give us a good A/B comparison between the 10's and the 7's.

If for some reason you prefer the 10's and want to sell the 7's, think of me bro...:D

The remorse wont last long after you plug them in... trust me.

I was very sceptical buying my used 7's, I thought, I might be in some trouble. Looking back now, I stole them.

Well there is some debate between us Vintage Monitor guys. Some like the 10's over the 7's but I think the majority of us will pick the 7's. Less boomy and alittle better sound stage.

But if your kinda a bass head, like me. You'll love the 10's.

    Congrats!

I think that might be a record for a pair of monitor tens on ebay. At least you can say you hold the world record at something.:D

See if he will packge the drivers seperatly. After paying that much you would think he would be happy to do you a favor. I can't see thoughs drivers surviving the trip if he don't. Even if he don't want to I think it would be in your best interest to pay more to have them shipped seperatly. It would probably be cheaper to pay extra for shipping then haveing to buy new drivers like you did with the sevens. Not to mention you would have to hunt for the peerless tweets if they were damaged.

Be sure to do a camparison between the 7's and 10's when you get them. I will be interested to hear your results.

Thanks Nikolas, and Jake. I will ask him to ship the drivers seperate, just the 4 mids and the 2 tweeters right? The PRs should be ok I would think.

Yes. I think. I could not see a passive radiator haveing a magnet and voice coil on it. But I could be wrong. You might want to research that. Maybe someone else will chime in.

leaving the Pr on , is no problem. Wrap the mids and tweets well and ship them seperatly from the cabinet and you'll be fine.

Something very major would have to happen to damage a Pr.

Is there a driver missing or is that some kind of port?

As evidenced by the foam ring around the dome. That's how one can quickly tell the diff between it and an RD0.

BTW - forgot to mention, congrats Mike.

In the grand scheme of things, you paid more than I would have, but you also got what you wanted. You only overpaid if you don't like them and plan to sell them for a profit.

Here is hoping they arrive as good as they leave the seller.

On the bright side, a pair of Model 10s in "walnut" vinyl in 1977 would've set you back $400 from the dealer (cash and carry). They do sound good... I like my 7As better, though. YMMV.

The two images you have are still early versions.

Note: the Peerless tweeters in both. Didn't they get the SL2000 in the later versions?

So are the SL2000 the ones with the clear plastic that get indented easily and the Peerless ones are the black ones?
