Holy Cow! Stop Bidding! Some more will come along.

Your looking at close to $500.00 easy at this rate. You could find some used lsi9's for that price.

Given the fragility of the magnet glue on the (now) decades-old midbass drivers on the early 7s and 10s, shipping a pair of these would be a risky endeavor at best.

The drivers need to be taken out and put zip ties around the magnet or and be shipped seperatly of the cabinets.

Not trying to be mean, but this is why I hate ebay. If you do end up with the speaks make sure the seller knows how to ship them without damaging the drivers - that would add insult to injury.

That is exactly what is vexing me at the moment. The Monitor 7cs I got off ebay arrived with BOTH tweeter magnets just lying in the cabinet and one of the mids totally frozen. Only cost me 200.00 for new drivers from Polk! How can they be packed to assure no damage during shipment? I guess the drivers can be taken out and zipped tied or something?

The thing with e-bay is there will always be another "thing-a-ma-jig" to come along. You have to be patient. A particular piece I wanted, which is somewhat rare, always auctioned for $225-325 plus shipping for a nice cond. piece. It took about 18 months but I finally found a nice cond. piece for $140 shipped. Not BIN but an actual auction. I was quite pleased and the unit doesn't look like it's ever been used.

Another set of peerless 10's will come along, trust me.

This looks like a new "indoor record". If you paid zero for these, they would still be $150 shipped (about what they are worth IMHO). Wow.

Congrats to the stupid man from Charlotte NC who has more money than common sense! Oh, thats me!! I won the Daggone speakers. I am telling everyone here, if they arrive at my place with the slightest damage, I will have to be sedated!!!!!

$386.08 has to be close to a record. Those original 6 1/2" drivers are no longer avail. Those early PR's were uncoated. I would do some research and see if you can convince the seller to pack them properly so they aren't damaged.

Polk has replacement drivers but they aren't exactly the same. Same goes for the peerless tweeter. The peerless can only be bought used on a place like e-bay.

Good luck, if they make it in one piece you'll have a nice vintage set of speakers.

The Peerless is no longer made, like H9 said. I have tried and tested these dome tweeters. They are an exact fit and do not sound half bad. I bought these when all else failed. And I'm kinda glad I did.

Are you sure? The ad states the shipping price is for (1) speaker. Perhaps you worked something out with the seller :)
