Sweet! I hope it's good. The teaser trailer after Star Trek, Defiance, was awesome. WWII. Daniel Craig. Does that guy ever take a break between movies?

    Can't wait for both.

What is KNOWN about TOS is that Kirk is the youngest captain. How/why Spock & Kirk meet at SF Academy needs to be explained.

They both can't be attending since Spock should have graduated years ahead of Kirk. Spock was already serving on the Enterprise under the command of Capt. Pike when Kirk was appointed Capt.

If they mess with the 40 yr well established history of Kirk & Spock, trekkies are going to be in an uproar!!!

I recall that Spock spent some time as an instructor at SF Academy prior to being assigned to the Enterprise.

The trailer makes it seem that Spock did not have as much emotional control in his younger days.

He was younger, so of course he didn't. He was always fighting his human half during TOS, which is what drove him to attempt Kohlinar during the first movie.

It's so refreshing to see a more rough and tumble Kirk like in TOS and the TOS films. TNG was a joke that should never have materialized.

I really hope this does extremely well so we can get more films.

The new trailer was aired on Hero's which by the way was completely awesome.

I'm now more excited to see this movies. It looks cool.

Looks to be an awesome prequel. I can't wait.

    TNG Borg episodes were great.

    Horrible as well.

The problem I have with all ST spin off's was the casting, not a single good character in any of the shows. No good interplay between the characters, too much drama and not enough story or action to keep the series interesting.

What the TOS had (and the films) none of the other shows could duplicate and that is where it failed.

Sorry but I couldn't disagree more. The original was bad in every sense of the word. No series in the history of television has gotten more credit for being worse. It gets credit simply for being one of the first mainstream sci-fi shows, but everything about it is horrid. Terrible acting, really cheap sets and laughable special effects, silly stories. I know campiness goes a long way, as does the nostalgia factor, and that's cool ; I like a lot of crappy shows just cuz I was a kid when they came out. But I don't pretend they're actually good, I just know I LIKE them. The original Star Trek, even if you like it, is still a really really bad show.

I think most of the sequels really stepped it up in terms of story, acting, and everything else the original lacked. I don't particularly care for most or any of them, but they're by far a better product.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

It looks like it could be good but I'm not sold yet. One thing that strikes me odd is Kirk was 12 years old when the Enterprise was finished being built so that didn't seem to line up. Hopefully the rest will make sense.

If they are true to canon, that must have been another ship under construction. The thing that struck me odd was that Kirk was able to ride to within a few hundred yards of what had to be a high security military construction site. Maybe that scene was when he was an academy cadet.

TNG was like drinking flat soda. :p

You know what a good bubbly soda is supposed to taste like(TOS), but restaurant after restaurant you end up getting served flat soda.

The waitress apologizes and says that the CO2 ran out so you get an iced tea instead. :(

Yet you persist at the next restaurant in the hopes of getting a fresh bubbly soda but end up getting another flat one.

I rarely order soda any more ;)
