Cloverfield = Blair Witch Project documentary of the escape of the Rancor from Skywalker Ranch. :D

    But - that's just me....

I am not going to challenge your opinion, I personally really enjoyed it. But did you not at least enjoy the killer job Skywalker did on the audio side of things? That movie in TrueHD is absolutely stunning.

Unfortunately for me, I have my Blu ray player in optical to my Rotel preamp so I can't hear the DD HD yet. I'm waiting on the right preamp to replace mine. Marantz came out with one and I got to go check it out.

But the movie was so annoying I didn't enjoy the audio. I didn't notice anything special due to the crap on the screen. I wanted badly to love this movie. I even like the concept but damn I felt like **** after watching it. The motion was to much. Not to mention the story sucked.

I think I should report this thread... because the movie was so terrible, the power's that be should not even allow it's name to be mentioned on this site... ever.

Hey MacLeod -- your move to Georgia -- when did that happen? I wasn't paying attention.

Oops. Sorry dude, didnt mean to ignore ya. Mustve forgot to check this thread.

Im still in Chattanooga kinda. Chattanooga sits on the TN/GA border and Ringgold is basically a suburb of Chattanooga. Its my home town and since GA has a state income tax and TN doesnt, none of the sprawl comes across the line so its nice and quiet. ;)

As for Cloverfield - when it hit the stores for some reason I felt compelled to buy it and so a couple of weekends ago we had some friends over to grill out and watch a movie on my new plasma and I figured this was a good time so I bought it at Walmart for $20. And although I poo-pooed this movie in my eariler review, I have to admit it wasnt that bad watching it the second time. Maybe because I went into it this time realizing that its not a monster movie but rather a movie about a bunch of 20-somethings and a smokin' hot chick that gets impaled on a big pole (get your minds out of the gutter) as theyre trying to get out of NY.......and oh yeah, there is a monster rummaging around in the background.

ok - so I had to mention that I finally rented this movie and watched it in 2.1 on the bedroom system as the rest of the family was not interested in seeing or hearing it.

Bedroom system consists of a Samsung 26" LCD tv, Onkyo 777 reciever, Polk RTi6 speakers and a borrowed Polk MicroPro2000 (8") sub.

I thought the movie was pretty good. (ending sucked, but the rest of the movie was decent - good enough to watch a sequal if one becomes available)

This was my first test of the MicroPro 2000 in a movie with alot of bass. It did a very good job and I was amazed at how well an 8" sub can vibrate a room. Really a great sub, unbelievable when you consider its size.

Won't go into to much, but it was a decent flick. Should be a cheap rental by now so if you haven't seen it - it is worth a cheap rental just to check it out.

Good movie! Although because of the way it was filmed, careful getting motion sickness, i did a little bit, but overrall it was very exciting.
