In fact, the day I posted “kill this”, I didn’t click on it at all. Quite simply seeing this thread title, along with the Untasteful Babe Thread title was enough to bring on my own “snap”.

You know if one of my bosses had a drawer of Playboy type magazines, which were kept out of sight, and only viewed by interested parties behind closed doors, they would still have an effect on the women in the office.

My primary concern centers around violence against women, and somewhere on the continuum of healthy sexuality to rape, objectifying women to the point of no longer viewing them as human beings occurs.

Last year, in a shallow moment after hearing about Britney shaving her head, I searched the net for photos. To the right was a link about Anna Nicole Smith’s death which I also clicked on.

In the discussion posts below the blog entry was one which contained

**** burping ****, **** burping ****
**** burping ****, **** burping ****

over and over.

I think that demonstrates what a double edged sword it is for women to get the message to be thin and sexy, then be denigrated as a **** or a ****. Worse though, you have someone expressing with the above post that her death didn’t matter, because she was trash.

I will say that it further angered me that a thread discussing morality, censorship and whether The Golden Compass is appropriate for children:

Golden Compass – The Anti Christ?

was bombed back to the stone age by the enemies of freedom,

when this and other threads with even more graphic material are left untouched.

If any of you wish to reply, you can do so in my Killing Us Softly thread, so that it won’t further interrupt this one.
