Rear speakers seem really far apart. (I am only running 5.1 though, so I could be mistaken) For those in the know - how far apart are your rear speakers supposed to be? I thought it was only 2 or 3 feet. (like I said, I really do not know, so looking to gain a little knowledge in the new year)

As far as rear surround speaker placement I spoke with Paul about it and Polk recommends them to be placed close to each other, of course I did not do this.........well, my experience has been that having them around eight feet apart works well, my rear are ceiling mounted and I can aim the tweets. Like all things there are some room dynamics to consider, I would say that keeping them around 3 ft off the side walls is a good idea.

Never had anyone complain about the rear speakers.

Could be - Like I said, I only have 5.1 right now. On my Pre/Pro there are 3 settings (from what I remember) 1ft. apart, 12" -30" apart and more than 30" apart.

Like I said, that is from memory so I could be mistaken on the exact distances, but it is somthing like that....

RT, the automatic setup should take care of sound levels for each speaker right?

    YPAO Automatic System Calibration
Yamaha’s YPAO system uses a small microphone and sophisticated equalization to automatically set the best sound for any room, no matter where the speakers are. First it checks the speaker connections and phase of each speaker. Then it sends out tones which are captured by the microphone to analyze the room acoustics and sets a variety of parameters, such as the speaker size, the distance of the speakers and even the sound pressure level, etc. Until it achieves the best sound conditions for your room and you don't have to do anything!
RX-V2500 and newer models have an improved system that is faster (less than three minutes), also adjusts frequency response, and provides three programed EQ patterns, plus the ability to manually adjust parametric EQ settings. Six YPAO settings can be held in memory and recalled via two system memory buttons on the remote control.

My gawd, have you ever thought about moving your sub to where it could breathe? That thing is squeezed in there like......***clears throat***......well, I won't go there. Seriously, would you consider moving the sub to a location that would best suit the acoustics of the sub and room?

i was going to put it on the left side of the left lsi15 but there is a woofer on the side.

Since bass is a movement of a lot of air...there is a big gap between the lsi15 and the feet...not enough?

I believe he was speaking to you.

They should be equal distance from the ideal listening position and equal distance apart from each other. Like a equilateral triangle.

I have no personal experience with LSi15's, but as far as toeing them in, it's worth a try. I found that it gives better imaging and detail.

Very nice! Only one concern "for me" though. I see the space and where the speakers are located. Everything in its place and may just sound great. But I'd be the first to bang my head SEVERAL times on the rear mounted by the door. Just me and my wine talking....LOL. I'd bust that speaker every time I opened a bottle...turn the corner coming into the room and catch the rears every time. Just me and knowing me. But it looks good bud.

For toe in - the inside edge of the speaker should be pointed at your ear on that side. (well start with that anyway and tweak from there....)

I though the sub was ok where it was at, but to be honest, your best bet is to put some wood on your couch, set the sub on it (basically so the sub is firing into the wood rather than into the couch cushion), play some bass heavy music and crawl around on the floor till you find a place that the bass sounds good. Then switch positions wth the sub. Sounds really stupid, but it works pretty well.
