who has time to text 5000 times in a month? even if each text takes 10 seconds.. still looking at a helluva lot of wasted time in a year.. just call em up. or do phones not make phone calls anymore? just texting...

they shouldn't even call them cell phones anymore. just call them time wasting text devices because I'm to lame to dial 7 digits.
but I can send 500 texts in under 20 minutes :D

That'd be 833 seconds in texting for that month. Or 13.8 minutes. That's actually not nearly as bad as I expected it to be.

And there's a girl who sits beside me in one of my classes who is texting CONSTANTLY...and most of her texts don't even take 10 seconds. Quite amazing.

I usually get less than 10 a month all from my same friend who has a Blackberry and conducts most of his business with it. I think texting is a pain in the ****.

Why would anyone text someone when they have a perfectly good phone?

ok, first rule of texting: You have to spell complete words. And use proper punctuations. Nothing bother's me more then those that can't spell properly in a text or use short hand nonsense. It's a form of communication. Treat it with respect!

And if it takes you thirteen seconds to type a sentence on text, you need serious help! :D

Second rule of texting... you DO NOT, Talk, About texting!!!

I hope one of these days I have a cloak and dagger job that makes me want to send someone a text message. Old fashioned **** I guess - I prefer a call, and voice mail.

I take elder pops-in-law to about 50+ Doctor visits yearly. I can send updates on small procedures to my wifes email and the rest of the family. She can check emails when convenient.

We use several pre-programmed texts like "leaving doctors office", "Wife on way home" "at gate" so I know if she's on the road or I can open the gate for her (great on those rainy days).
"on road" she knows Pops and I are highway bound for those out of town appointments time stamps are there too.

Lunch dates are far easier to arrange.

Stop and get something on the way home messages.

All done w/o disturbing anyone in the middle of a task, errand, meeting, business call.

Text/Text to e-mail and vise versa is very handy.

I feel like I'm on myspace with this thread.

I dunno, a few hundred a month sometimes. I've had to clear my messages a few times though, otherwise the phone would run slow and lock up, lol.
