ZERO, nadda, don't have a cell phone, don't want one.

I do know that there was a stat out on the news yesterday that claimed 90% of people who own cell phones, TEXT MESSAGE WHILE DRIVING. Now that should bring a jail sentance for being so irresponsible.

I almost envy you for not having a cell phone. It's such a convenience but life was much simpler before them.

I manage 130 phones though. I just email from my PDA :)

Never been into the text messaging thing. Hell, Ive had a cell for years and dont like using it. If you want to reach me, email me or come over to my desk and talk to me. I hate talking on phones. My average phone call is about 10 seconds.

4000-5000 a month... been as high as 6000 before.

Whoever said that about texting while driving obviously hasn't seen a pro text. I don't have to look at the keys, and can't actually text faster then I type on a computer... and that's saying something!

Texting is so much more normal and easier to use... why call when you can just send a text? In public, you don't have to be yelling into a phone so everyone can hear you, and in private, during a movie, whenever, wherever. Text is one of the best inventions in a long time... and now that you can send pics and video... what more could you want without ever dialing a number?

Do you turn your radio up or down while driving? Texting for me is safer then that... because you can keep your eyes straight ahead, and text without looking at what you are doing... then just hit the send button.

Hardly irresponsible! That's the craziest thing I've heard on here in ages :D:D:D

$30 a month just incase I break down and need to call AAA, I'd rather spend that on records. Besides someone with a cell phone usually pulls over and makes the call for me!:D:p

I think she meant one of the pay as you go type phones - One time purchase - $50 (or so) comes with phone and x number of min. You can add more min. when you want so you don't have to repurchase the phone. No contracts or monthly fees.

For real that is all you need to do to create and send a text message? I've never done it but according to the newscaster it is very dangerous. AH HA another example of sensationalizm from our liberal media!!! LOL!~!!:D:rolleyes:

Oh ya... I can type around 80+ WPM on a computer, and I can text just as fast... without looking. Think about it. There are only like 12 keys to use... and you have the numbers memorized for the words... and just text away! If you are ever in KC, stop on by... we'll give you lessons in texting. I got my dad hooked on it, and with a little practice you can really start picking up speed! Much easier to use then a phone call, and much more convenient!

I'm with you there. I gave up my cell phone about 4 years ago, don't miss it a bit. Hell, I don't like talking on the phone at home, no need for people to bother me when I'm not home.

You guys use yours quite a bit... I was around maybe 100 - 200 a month until a free treo 650 came my way. Then it jumped to between 600 and 1600 sent. Thinking of making a switch to an htc P4550 / kaiser / tytnII but I can't decide
