Dayton, OH....heads up on LS50s in "excellent" shape for or $100.

    http://dayton.craigslist.org/ele/1633374774.html

Someone local should jump on this. Very under-rated speakers IMO. I love mine.

I thought about that devilish idea as well Ben, but I'm a little scared of the repercussions of that. I joined this site about a year ago and I just keep accumulating more and more stuff. I like it, but I don't think the g/f does. I might have to though...look damn nice in the pics, but I'd like to see 'em up close.

Just don't show her this thread. ;)

"Honey, he was supposed to come pick up these minty LS50s that i picked up for the low low low price of $100, but tragically on the way here, 2 minutes away from his house he was attacked by a pack of wild dogs who dragged him in front of a train. It was very tragic. I feel like i should keep these speakers and dedicate them to his memory."

That said, if they were 90s, i'd have you pick them up for me. :p And i promise i wouldn't get hit by a train.

Nik's moving to Fairborn...you could "hold them" for him as a housewarming present. You shoulda seen my wifes reaction when I started moving Ricardo's 2-channel into the living space...a piece at a time... I still search CL for holy grail finds...fortunately turning up the 7b's drives the demons out...until I can finish some other projects...and even the Mrs prefers the 7b's to my old RT8s!

Did anyone snag up those ls50's in Dayton? If not, I'll likely pick them up either for my own diabolical scheme or to pass along to someone on here.

Yay! I was able to negotiate for more audio toys when my fiancee decided she needed to buy a ps3, but I don't want to break the bank on electronics purchases this week.

If I didn't just buy 2 pairs of speakers already I would be all over these...it was hard enough to convince my fiance that I need an amp now...she would kill me:( You could be the lucky new owner:D

Anyone interested in some cheap power conditioning here's a link to the PDF manual and seller on fleabay.
Don't have one in hand yet but ordered a unit and will check it out.
Niles generally makes some good quality stuff and I expect the same from this unit.

The unit has the UL 1449 second edition listing that I understand is very important.

I expect build quality to be at least as good as Monster. My experience with other Niles stuff is that it is on a more professional level than most monster products. The unit has some serious power filtering specs also. Comes with a built in 12v trigger.

Should have mine next week if you want to wait. I'll post a first impression.

    Hi Joe.

Are we talking total current through the unit? It has a 15A circuit breaker built into the rear of the unit. Some other specs are over voltage and under voltage protection. Niles claims the unit also beats the UL spec (<300v) for capturing spikes, one of only a few on the market to have the ability.
