The speaker on the left has unfortunately seen a bad move and suffered some superficial damage. The tweeter casing had some scratching that I tried to polish out and in the process worked it down to the bare metal. The left side of the wood veneer has a chip the size of a quarter and a scratch.

]Those are rough looking speakers just for a couple of hundred below market.At that price with some good damage to them, I'd pass. Its not that its a bad price, but reselling them will be a PITA and you're still going to lose money on the deal.
Yeah, i thinnk some work could make them presentable, but with the stands, really a good price. If its something one is going to hold on to for a long time, might be worth it. I have heard these at a local high end shop and they are quite remarkable. -

I have one of these on my bench. Mine also came to me with a broken lens. These are pretty good for working on vintage gear where you want to test caps under their actual working voltage. You will need to replace the caps in it as you opined, as it is a bridge that measures a cap under test against an internal reference. It's not a big deal but they are not going to give you valuable results with 50 year old caps. It measures capacitance and checks for leaks. I also have a Sprague TO-4 that I like a bit better but this will meet most people's needs quite well.The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young -

I have heard the ps audio before and thought it was a good sounding unit. Hey, Enders. Thanks for the post. I dont want to deal with packing and shipping them (I have the original boxes and everything). I have a month until the replacement speakers will arrive (the Eminent technology LFT-8b). That is plenty of time to sell them and the 2.7 Maggies locally on CL. They are all priced very low, so they will be sold in a week or two. If not I will consider shipping them or simply keep them. -

They are $2,500 a pair. But the last thing they are is beautiful. What they actually are is pure audiophile no BS marvels. Red more on their unique push/pull planar hybrid design. Some amazing stuff. -

You are correct. My room is minuscule and they sound terrific. I would prefer them 3-4 feet off the wall and another 3-4 feet to my listening sofa, but I dont have a space. So they are almost against the wall and only 8 feet away from my listening position. Anyway, they sound great like they are now, but will open up once you have more space, but then you will need at least a 300W power amp to pump ENOUGH juice to the speakers!
