Any upgrade is by definetion an unrealized downgrade, accordingly, said upgrade is no longer an upgrade when you upgrade, its then a downgrade from the upgrade which will become a downgrade when you upgrade next.

    I thought this was obvious..........

ROFLMAO!!!:D Umm Ted, you might want to rethink this post. Do you really want us to believe that your wife didn't figure it out after the 3rd time you said you were "downgrading?" Do you really want us to think your wife is that dumb?  ;):D

I'd agree that this forum has a great deal to do with where I'm at now.

SCompRacer & Normanality have been responsible for most of my 2 channel upgrades. Since they're local it is easy to drop in for a visit, while being perfectly happy with whatever I have at the time, and leave wanting more from my rig.

Is Club Polk responsible? Damn right! I wouldn't have met either of them (or others that've been guiding me along this journey) if I didn't join CP after purchasing some R15's from CC.

So I hooked up my newest downgrade today! I'm such a happy owner of inferior rti8s. The added mid over the 6s is awesome to have. I'm going to be getting my downgraded receiver later this week and I should have more tweaking to do.

It's a stress. Next I have to downgrade my sub and my wiring.

Upgraditis is not the correct term. I think Upgradoholism is more accurate.

I came here looking for some RTA12's, found them, but then made the mistake of sticking around, learning (a tiny bit) and, of course, getting hooked.

Since then (2 & 1/2 years) I've bought 3 amps, a pre, cd player & another set of speakers. Sheesh!

    Sure has been fun...

Everyone is absolutely right: this place is a nightmare on the wallet, but a dream for the ears. I started only 9 months ago trying to get something better than my Logitech computer speakers and now I've got more money invested in my stereo than I do a car. Wow, I'm glad I'm still young.

Once I get my 15's upgraded - I'm done. (finally)

Of course, I have wanted to get a new Pre/Pro for quite awhile, but after that - no more.

But if the new pre/pro supports balanced cables - I would really like to try some.

an extra blu-ray player for the bedroom is not really an audio purchase - is it?

Of course, if I get may basement room done, I will have to get sound treatments and a pojector for that. Its not really an upgrade, more a new room.

    and then.......

I'm just glad I don't have a problem like you guys. Like i said - I am one upgrade away from being done......

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. You have no idea how many PM's I get each month asking about my setup. I assume no responsibility for one's "upgradtitus". :D In all honestly, it flatters me every time I get a PM asking about my setup, makes me feel like I did something right in my choices. As far as gear purchases go, I'm done for a while, BUT, I am planning on doing some work to my HT room.
