    +1
Give Zero a gold star and a grilled cheese:)

And in Frank's defense, one of the benefits he lists is that it "looks great".
How many of us have spent some extra dough to get either a different finish, color, etc. I know my Arros cost a little more because I wanted them in maple. Do mine sound better than those in black ash? No... but they looked better to me and therefore, were worth the additional ducets.
A lot of people would rather just not have their "investments" (in this case, cables) strewn all over the floor.

    Aesthetics + cable management + Signal Cable - $45 = a pretty good deal

    And another thing....

Before anyone starts slamming Frank's business model, understand that he offers his product for far less cashola than he is capable of. Considering the quality of his product, numerous stellar reviews, massive consumer loyalty, etc -- SignalCable is in IMO the best deal to be had in audio. Even his cable risers are a steal, relatively speaking:p

The last company I would ever accuse of milking the masses would be Signal.

    Just my 3 cents

Does that mean you have been taken advantage of? by using the gear that you do?

Do you think this is rare? Do you think this is odd?

Just wondering. Keep in mind, that I've stated that I've heard no audible difference in using the subject at hand.

NYPD Blue had an epsiode once where a con man was selling black boxes to ugly chicks. You buy the box for $2000 and wear it over your head for 2 hours a day and it focuses the magnetic field of the Earth to cleans the skin and make them look younger.

He was taking advantage of these women.

Somebody selling a bunch of shot glasses for $45 claiming that theyll reduce your noise floor is also taking advantage of people.

I do see what youre saying that if the person buying the shot glasses or the black box is happy with their purchase then there is no harm and that does make sense and Im not suggesting anybody be thrown into jail, however I do think its in bad taste to sell something claiming it will do something that they know it wont do.

That would degrade the signal, make it unstable, and then you're running the risk of having to buy new electronics and speakers.

I have a hot stripper come home with me. I wrap the speaker cable around her and attach the ends to the speakers and amp. The cable gets so turned on from the hot stripper that the guage of the wire increases, thus more unobstructed "signal flow". Having her stroke and pet the wire is even more effective.

I have never said that all products are equal. There is definitely a difference between a $150 Sony receiver and a $2000 Outlaw, hell even between a $150 Sony and a $300 Onkyo! Those are proven and noticeable differences. Same with speakers. The difference between a $1000 set of LSi's and a $200 set of Monitors is drastic.

Take amps for example. I couldve bought some Power Acoustics for $150 but theyre not built very well and barely make their rated power so I passed on them.

I couldve bought some $1200 Xtant "audiophile" amps which are built like tanks, look great and easily and cleanly exceed their rated power.

Or I couldve bought some $350 Crossfires which are built like tanks, look great and easily and cleanly exceed their rated power.

So since there is virtually no performance difference between the $350 amp and the $1200 amp, I bought the Crossfires. Im sure the Xtant had .004% THD while the Crossfires had .04% so the Xtant is a better performer but since you cant hear anything below 1% it doesnt matter.

Same with cables. The $10 Rat Shack cables will let in all kinds of noise and are flimsy. The $40 JL cables are 100% noise free and well made. The $500 MIT cables are 100% noise free and well made. So since there is no performance difference between the $40 and $500 cables, Ill save the $460.

So in a nutshell, I would spend $2000 on a great set of LSi's but Ill pass on the $45 cable risers and use that money for tipping at my local nudie bar. :D

Macleod - Just as a point of reference, I've never spent over $200 for any MIT interconnect. I'm not going to get into whether you would hear a difference between the two as you're so stedfast in your opinion, that it wouldn't matter if it was reality anyways.

I also think you should save your money for other things. Good luck & happy listening.

Yeah well, there are folks like John K. that would argue against those proven and noticeable differences.
The $40 JL cables are 100% noise free and well made. The $500 MIT cables are 100% noise free and well made. So since there is no performance difference between the $40 and $500 cables, Ill save the $460.

You've never tried a pair of $500.00 MIT cables, so it's kinda hard to make the above statement, eh?

I am thinking of selling ice cubes with little indentions at their top that you can set on the floor to elevate your cables. That way you get the benefit of cryogenics and elevated cables in one simple solution.

I think I will see my ice trays....uh...Cryogenic Cable Lifters for $90. Woo Hoo!
