    You gotta admit though......

The subwoofer in a cardboard box... is freaking classic.

Yeah, but did it only have 4 sides? That is the real question...
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

    To summarize...

Pioneer 12" swapped for a Rockford Fosgate sub. You still need to get specs from RF for a box for that woofer.

Jensen and/or Sony amp, to run sub and 6x9s- seems almost a shame to power any decent sub that way.

T-Unit, maybe do-it-yourself isn't really the way to go at this point.

You might want to consider going to a shop that sells RF, buying a pre-made box suitable for that sub, and then saving up for a better amplifier. You could have the shop sort out the problems for you and then actually enjoy something that works the way its intended.

Just curious, what brought you to the Polk forum in the first place?

Well I am going to get a box tonight. And what brought me here? I googled subwoofer chat.

NO NO! You got to remember that he does not know what a port is. He calls them airholes in his cardboard box. And if that cardboard box only has 4 sides, then surely it would not overheat, according to his theory. What was he doing with an oil box anyways? Shouldn't he leave that to professionals? I would love to see a thread about him having to change the oil.

I was pretty amazed that the HT guys were more calm and actually serious about helping the guy, although I believe he needs a different sort of help (...If they have not already given up on him).

I would like to congratulate T Unit, however, for giving me 5 minutes of continual laughter. I can honestly say I have never met anyone like that before.

Oh, and BTW I scored a perfect 100 on the IQ test, and now I think I will try for bigger and better things....Like figuring out how to tell the difference between positive and negative when the idiots who make the amp only give little + and - pictures. <-- I meant, COME ON...how are we suppose to understand what is going on with mathmatical symbols and no words.

I was talking about the subwoofer wires, they don't say which is + or -. And I changed the oil last week thanks Scotty.

Sorry if I offended you. Did not mean to be a tool. It was worded that way because buddy keeps changing equipment and is still having problems.
