    Trunks? Or trucks? ;)

That show would have been Top Gear. I saw that episode. Quite amazing, actually. They ended the show by catching it on fire and letting it burn. They drove it onto the show floor at the very end, even after that.

Not sure an H1 could out do it, too much.

Though, admittedly, that was a very old (80's) Toyota. Not even sure if they had the name 'Tacoma' back then.

Yeah, definately meant truck, as tacomas have no trunk, just a bed. Yeah it was top gear that showed the tacoma. I just saw it on G4 (I think it was)(or was it?).

    I want the Tundra.

I really do not like small trucks. I think they look funny. Especially the Tacoma.

The Tacoma looks WAY better than the Tundra. The Tundra is ugly.

    Oh well.

    You are a moron.

You drive a Jeerp Cherokee, that explains everything. ;)

I love the way the Tundra looks. I dont like the front end on small Tacomas. Mid-Size Tacomas look ight.

    I figure 6,000 a year... 5 years = 30,000 = new truck with some options. ;)

I think the new Tundra looks badass. I wouldnt mind having one at all.

If I were going to buy another truck and it not be a Dodge, my first pick would be the Ford Super Duty. Those things are build like tanks!

    No... you weirdo...

I'm talking saving 6,000 a year for 5 years... and buying the truck outright. Financing...HA!

Financing is for people with no patience. I have alot of patience.

EDIT: Probally will save 7,000 a year just to counteract inflation.

Toyota is manufactured in the USA. Designed in Japan.

Where as alot of American trucks are designed here and made overseas.

Correct me if I am wrong. But where as buying an "American" truck - I would be supporting overseas workers, where as if I buy this "****" truck - I would actually be supporting American workers, the common man.

    Hmmm

The thing I like about Toyota is the fact they keep going and going and going.

    Ford E-Series – Lorain, Ohio
Ford Escape – Kansas City, Missouri and Avon Lake, Ohio
Ford Excursion – Kansas City, Missouri
    Ford Expedition – Wayne, Michigan
Ford Explorer – Louisville, Kentucky and Fenton, Missouri
    Ford F-Series – Dearborn, Michigan; Wayne, Michigan;
    Kansas City, Missouri; Norfolk, Virginia
Ford Five Hundred – Chicago, Illinois
    Ford Focus – Wayne, Michigan
    Ford Freestyle – Chicago, Illinois
    Ford GT – Wixom, Michigan
Ford Mustang – Flat Rock, Michigan
    Ford Ranger – Minneapolis, Minnesota
    Ford Taurus – Atlanta, Georgia
    Ford Thunderbird – Wixom, Michigan

Ford offers a little something for everyone in the Buy American category, from an exotic sports car in the GT to a full-size family sedan called the Five Hundred. Crown Vics and Freestar minivans originate north of the border, while the new 2006 Fusion is made in Mexico along with a handful of F-Series Super Duty models. Otherwise, everything wearing the blue oval badge is made in America. Contrary to popular belief, Ford’s got a solid lineup these days; the only duds are the oversized Excursion, aged Ranger, and obsolete Taurus.

I -like- Ford. Dont get me wrong.

But I really just like the Tundra over the F-150, although the newer ones look cool as hell. The F150 is far more expensive though. Price and Reliability are in Toyotas favor.

Ill reevalute my choice in 2010 - Im going to have around 35,000 to throw in this truck and I want certain options at that price, out the door.

    ALSO...

The F150 has the worst gas mileage... lol

    I want a V6 (18/22 mpg)...

Where as the F150 (current) gets the same effing gas mileage as my truck now (15 years old!!!)

Yeah, in 2010 - Ill see where all this is at. But right now, if I had the money - the Tundra wins hands down.

As you age, your living expenses rise, therefore affecting your saving potential......If you take 35k and dump it into a car outright, you're an idiot.

    Eh...

Shall see. We'll see how life is in 5 years, from there -- Ill guage myself how idiotic it is. ;) - Its not like I will be throwing it all away. Not like I am going to be buying the truck and be BROKE... I should have a very nice balance of funds/truck, etc...

Ill take any payment plan that dosnt involve interest.

Im not going to pay for a car + interest. If there is such a plan.. you let me know.

35k for truck today makes for a 20k truck next year. I think what Brett is referring to the only asset you have in the world being one that goes down 60% in 4 years. Not much of an "investment" or a wise use of money regardless of if you paid cash or not.

BTW, I just bought an '04 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab with the Hemi in it getting 20mpg at 65mph. Really is a great ride with the 20 inch rims, nice and smooth and with the ability to kick major **** when needed. Compared to Tundra, Titan, and F150, I easily chose the Dodge and so far am glad I did. Paid half of your $35k too.

The chances are (and Ive considered this)...

I will most likely get a 1 year old truck (with similar options to what I want) (basically a 2009) - reason being, I dont want any vehicle that has more than 10,000 miles. I just dont.
