When you do the math, with this amount of miles on the truck? I have spent an entire year of my life just driving this truck and nothing else.

Crazy, when you think about it.

Yup. Didn't need to but did it anyway. It started blowing white smoke at startup and instead if chasing the issue down and possibly having constant issues with it, I just had them swap out the motor. This was at 320K miles, I think.

What I find unfathomable is that I tow, and have been towing some pretty heavy loads for long distances, and the tranny is still original with zero maintenance done to it.

I call her, "Ol' reliable". The thing is a workhorse and she still looks new.

Besides the motor and basic maintenance, the only thing I have had time replace was the throttle body control actuator unit....which is a fancy term for what used to be a cable from the gas pedal to the carb. It's all computerized now. That was the only other "major repair" I have had to do to her. Not bad for as many miles as she has, especially knowing what kind of loads and heavy on the foot driving I do.

All in all, she's a damned fine truck. You couldn't pay me to drive a new one. Waaay to many maintenance issues being reported.

I hear ya man, too much computer controlled garbage to go wrong on newer trucks.

A lady decided to smash my Lexus SUV to the tune of 8k in damage to the front end. So I've been renting a car waiting to get it fixed.

Ist SUV... Volkswagon Atlas.....piece of junk. 4 cyl. front wheel drive in a decent sized SUV. Noisy, drove like a boat, terrible in the snow, slid all over.

2nd, Jeep , their smallish 4by4 version. Another piece of junk, but....it rides more like a sports car, handles well and the cabin is way quieter than the Atlas, go figure. Control layout is terrible though, and just feels more like a Hyundai.

A new Lexus is 60k....not paying that, screw 'em. I'll buy another used one. Once your car is hit a certain way, they never drive the same. Hope you get another 400k out of your truck.
