A while back someone asked me if the Geese in my pictures were Eagles. Sadly no; however, yesterday there were 4 of them on Lake Loveland. Pretty cool to record some of the action.

My youngest son, Mitch, and I spent the day yesterday boating and fishing in the Gulf. As my wife told me "we live in paradise". Hope warm weather is right around the corner for those craving it.

    It actually sounds quite respectable.

Not the little Canuckistani amp above, but if we're lookin' at tubes in the dark (like Zevon's protagonist in Carmelita, but without the guns and dope)...

My son took that - it's a Decware Zen SE-84B; the photo was taken with a Nikon DSLR and a Nikon fisheye lens.

Another of my son's vacuum tube photos (a cheap ValveArt 2A3, in this case):

Here's one I took. I am not even in the same ballpark as my son as a photographer! This is a 1960s vintage Radio Shack "Realistic" mono push-pull 6V6 integrated amplifier called - if memory serves - the AF-14. It's essentially a Japanese-made clone of a Grommes design.

well -- those are Altec Magnificents; the true domesticated version of the VOT (with the midbass front horn loading, just like the Real Thing). Magnificent speakers they are indeed, and not at all common... but, yeah, I imagine $6 or 8k would let them out.

12 March 2014 - it's happenin' again. 12 to 18 inches of wet, heavy snow forecast by the end of Thursday. Gale-force winds overnight.

Early this afternoon, the turkeys looked like refugees (or the Donner Party) trompin' though the field...

Our son in law has similar thoughts :-)

The problem is that the turkeys - like the deer in their time - seem to know when the season's open -- they make themselves scarce for a while.

On a related note... still snowin' here... looks like about a foot; hard to tell due to blowing/drifting, though.

That's always my question; on average, what percentage of confiscated money is officially counted? Whether it's law-enforcement, the military, or just finding a wallet, no ones knows how much money it was to start...
