Not the best pic, taken through a windshield with a four year old phone, but it looked great in person.
Looks like a photo I took in Bonney Lake WA! Nice pic! We really miss the mountains! -
Just to be clear I wasn't driving and using my phone. I came to a complete stop, neutral, and parking brake on. Residential street, no traffic behind me.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Thats ok man. I saw this chick texting and driving and it pissed me off, so I rolled my window down and threw my beer at her. 😃 -
Last weekend we went biking in the trails as we do most weekends. My son asked to stop off at a swamp near the trail on the way home. He ended up finding 3 monarchs, brought them home and we now have this.

Sorry the pics are not the best, it's hard to take pictures through a mesh.

Yeah, yeah -- funny guys.
They're chrysalises (I guess that's the plural)
And I know y'all knew that, but this recent topic gives me an excuse to post a coupla photos from last year.
I've seen one chrysalis so far this year and a few caterpillars -- nothing like the profusion we had last year, although we've had plenty of monarchs flutterin' around.

We have about 10-14 days until we see the butterfies. -
Got some new boots today.
Those are sweeet.
I'm not much of a steel toe man, please tell me those are not steel toe. -
Nah, I'm never really in a scenario where I need steel toe. I considered getting Jocko Willink's company's boots https://originmaine.com/ but I decided to stick with what I know, Danner.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

You don't mind all the extra weight, sweating, and temperature transfer wearing them day to day? When it's cold and you're walking through snow with steel toe your toes get extra frosty 😜afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

They're insulated -- I pretty much wear them in winter and they are very warm.
I love them, as a matter of fact.

My son loves bugs. First one we've ever seen. We spent the morning biking in trails looking for snakes. -
^^ I can appreciate your sons fondness for insects. I was 10 yrs old at the time (early 60’s) when I won a red ribbon at the KY Fair for my 4H Entomology project. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

Holy moly. I'm good on spending what looks like up to $1,500 on a pair of boots. $300 is plenty for me.
Do you own a pair of Dehners?afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.
