I was blown away at how large the F14 Tomcat really is. When I was stationed at NAS Pensacola, I went to the aviation museum. The F14 they have out front is awesome and way way bigger than I ever imagined!

Not the best pic, taken through a windshield with a four year old phone, but it looked great in person.

Just to be clear I wasn't driving and using my phone. I came to a complete stop, neutral, and parking brake on. Residential street, no traffic behind me.

Last weekend we went biking in the trails as we do most weekends. My son asked to stop off at a swamp near the trail on the way home. He ended up finding 3 monarchs, brought them home and we now have this. g03rlbt692sd.jpg

    Yeah, yeah -- funny guys.
    They're chrysalises (I guess that's the plural) :p
And I know y'all knew that, but this recent topic gives me an excuse to post a coupla photos from last year.

I've seen one chrysalis so far this year and a few caterpillars -- nothing like the profusion we had last year, although we've had plenty of monarchs flutterin' around.
