I got this from a buddy of mine. The Indiana/Kentucky border across from Louisville this weekend. That's an amphitheater, not a boat cover. They got pounded with rain.

During strong hurricanes, my streets' low-lying areas/yards look like that. Thank God it's only happened twice in 30+ years that I've lived here. I'm glad I live on the top level of my street. But I think I'm still only 7' above sea level. :o:s

It seems weather is a 50/50 balance. a drought or a flood every couple of years.

So here in SE Michigan. Yesterday it was 60, today snow. We're supposed to get at least 6 inches. Left work today with 3 inches of snow on the car!

That guy probably didn't have any problem finding a mate or 5 with that neck display!

Our Hummers only get about a third of that red plumage. We get hummers every year and its fun to watch them pair up and chase some other latecomers off. We've never seen any babies though. Or any nests either.

Find saplings and moss in the same area and you'll find the nests.

I live in Wilm. NC. so there is moss everywhere in every yard. There's a mulbery bush/tree that the hummers love to sit in and fly back and forth to our feeders. It has a ton of moss and I've tried on a few occasions to watch them closely but no luck.
Here is a few shots I took one day after I saw a hummer go to the top of the Mulberry bush/tree. The hummers usually just fly to a low hanging branch about 10 ft. up. They also will soar over our house and sit 50' up in some trees behind the house between the yards. They just sit there for a while. Funny little birds for sure!

And I thought USPS handled our packages better than UPS or FedEx. :o Man did my wife and I freak out when the mail-(person) snuck this onto our porch and high tailed it off of our street at 6:00 PM. Thank God the chess set survived without a scratch.
The shipper had a friend ship it off after he had moved away. There was 6+ inches of airspace above the board with 2 sheets of paper ( flat paper) for space filler! At least the board was wrapped in very thin bubble wrap. I don't think it would even be considered bubble wrap but it had some air things going on but almost useless for protection. But it was taped tightly around the board so it kept it together. The pieces inside were not secured and they were everywhere and in every direction inside the board. Glass board top and crystal bases on the pieces. Nothing damaged. A true miracle!

We put the pieces in their proper places before I took a picture. I almost didn't want to open the box and have USPS come take it back. I'm glad I looked in it and found the set to be perfect. It was a great bargain buy from Ebay too.

I just noticed that you must be a Star Trek fan. Ditto! What, shields were disabled on the box?

It's proven that some of the brightest minds play/played chess. Do you want a bright mind or a pretty body... or both? I say both! :D

My wife plays chess and was a hot chick 30 years ago. ;):p

We played an interesting game of chess one night that only dating chess players could play. Kinda like poker if you get the idea. B)
