My back hurts just looking at that photo...
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
It's soft water.....

That will take a HUGE plane
Oh yea, they actually completed the landing strip.
That runway ended up being one of the alternate landing strips for the shuttle.
There’s an artist rendering of the plane those engines were to go into.
On display, those engines, at the INEL in Idaho.
They also had a full scale submarine with submersible capabilities to train navy personnel. -

Lol, this pic reminds me of a worthy post.
Sorry I don't have an actual pic, let's see if I can paint one.....
Recently, an air force friend came to visit. Haven't seen him and his wife since I left the military in 1982.
We were laughing about old times when his wife reminded me of something I did that I had completely forgotten about.
My main transpo was motorcycles back then, first a 1980 Yamaha 650 Maxim, wadded it doing 140mph, followed by a 1981 Honda 900F SuperSport with the ins $$.
After having knee surgery, the removal of torn meniscus due to a non-motorcycle injury, I was released on crutches but I still rode my 900. I'd crutch out to my bike, get on, secure the crutches by way of resting them on the front and rear turn signals each side while my legs rested over the outside of them, keeping them in place.
I never gave it a second thought back then, but my friends wife said I was one crazy A-hole the first time she saw me ride up to their place on a big motorcycle, then crutch up to the door.
I may have been crazy but I was more streamlined than this pic posted
Catch up with us next week, when I share the story of modifying both my arm casts so I could still ride my bike......

ahem given some chatter on some threads here recently
I am just depositing this here. It might come in handy for someone at some point. One might want to crop out the header text -- then again, it might not even matter.

Blues guitarist Hound Dog Taylor's left hand with his enormous thumb and small supernumerary finger.
He had polydactyly hands so his right hand was its mirror. Must have been really easy for him to play barre chords using his thumb from the top of the neck.

Do 'we' still have a frankfurter subtext running through some threads? If so, this seems somehow apropos.
