Because stevie ray was the guitar player on the lets dance LP so that might be why you liked it.

No, I don't like it. However the song is liked. Just can't understand why it is liked by others.

I'm with you - never liked it. Nor 'China Doll' from the same album. Ugh.

I don't detect enough prejudice against LZ. "Whole Lotta Love" and "Stairway to Heaven."

The stuff blows and that guy can't sing worth anything.

Bhodisattva is monster good, but I don't really like Steely Dan too much.

Transmaster, for having forced me to read the lyrics to a Bobby Goldsboro song, I'm recommending the song,
"Seasons in the Sun" by Terry Jacks.
    Enjoy ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cd_Fdly3rX8&feature=related

Now, as part of Mr. Grand's Led Zepplin rehabilitation program, he's to listen to Oliver's "Good Morning Starshine" 10 times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAOTxAGJUug&feature=related

"Glibby gloop gloopy Nibby Nabby Noopy La La La Lo Lo
Sabba Sibby Sabba Nooby abba Nabba Le Le Lo Lo
Tooby ooby walla nooby abba nabba
    Early mornin' singin' song

Kind of severe punishment, but .... it's gotta be done !!

I gotta admit -- I don't think I've ever actually seen the lyrics to "Good Morning Starshine" in print before. But geez, how can anything with "Tooby ooby walla nooby abba nabba" in it be all bad?

Of course I remember the song, and I remember those 'phrases', but to actually SEE them is pretty funny...

I might get bad response with this, but I can't stand the sound of "Prince"'s voice. I can't turn it off fast enough.

He's touted as some musical creative genius, but to me he just plain sucks.

I don't mind his voice, and I like some of his stuff (mainly the purple rain phase). To call him a genius is completely wrong though IMO.

    Don't know who started that!

Actually, I liked the music of Morris Day and the Time in the movie Purple Rain as much as the stuff Prince did.

Love him or hate him, I don't think anyone has ever questioned his talent as a guitarist. He can obviously play and has been considered one of the best for quite some time.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. I think I was burnt on Prince when I saw a video of him running around in underwear and was obviously just strange and into himself way too much. I'm sure he's a decent guitar player, but so are many local musicians. Just not my cup of tea. Nice video though, Tom Petty is great.

Yeah, I understand what you mean about running around in your underwear.
That must be funny, maybe not as funny as the guys here, that go see that group, maybe it was Tool, that strip off and play with their manhood swinging. When I go to a concert, I don't care to see a players rippling muscles, not that's there's anything wrong with it.

I was at a major retail store today and they had a song blaring that I haven't been able to shake since then, so I thought it was the perfect time to revive this old thread!!

Blinded By The Light by Manfred Mann's Earth Band

Just a smattering of the awesome lyrics include the following:  (No....NOT a skip in the CD/vinyl)

    But she was...
    Blinded by the light,
    revved up like a deuce,
    another runner in the night
    Blinded by the light,
    revved up like a deuce,
    another runner in the night
    Blinded by the light,
    revved up like a deuce,
    another runner in the night
    Blinded by the light,
    revved up like a deuce,
    another runner in the night
    Blinded by the light,
    revved up like a deuce,
    another runner in the night
    Blinded by the light,
    revved up like a deuce,
    another runner in the night
    Blinded by the light,
    revved up like a deuce,
    another runner in the night
    Blinded by the light,
    revved up like a deuce,
    another runner in the night
    Blinded by the light,
    revved up like a deuce,
    another runner in the night
    Blinded by the light

I always thought he was singing, "....revved up like a ****, another roller in the night". But now that I know the truth, it makes it all better!

Manfred covered that song and it hit #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 back in the day. Springsteen wrote and recorded it on Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J where it didn't do so hot.
