What does that tell you about second hand smoke?
It tells me that the dog should have gotten his head out of his **** and started smoking himself, knowing that it was a scientific fact that he was going to get lung cancer from secondhand smoke and not from any other factor like licking his balls in public, sticking his nose up any available stray's butt, or eating his own ****.
He should have known that he was going to get cancer, so he should have at least enjoyed the pleasure of smoking, especially after a good butt sniffing.
At least that's what the folks at the Humane Society tell me.Sal Palooza -

Being a former smoker ( ok...so I sneak the occasional cigar about every 2-3 months ) I have seen smoking go from something that was OK and cool to something that was vile and low class. I too remember when the smoking lounge was moved from inside to outside and we were truly treated as second class citizens. What I found troubling most of all was how folks with "real" drug addictions were treated with more compassion and respect than smokers (nicotine is a proven highly addictive drug) and that smoking was viewed as "stupid behavior...lack of self control". Funny how things change...but thats how life is!
Lets face it smoking, being overweight, high risk activities and other points mentioned are easy targets because of their proven track record. Image is everything as far as people see things. Remember when cigar smoking was the really cool thing to do and Hollywood celebs were all chompin' on a stogie?
No one was complaining there!
I guess what it really boils down to is just respecting those around you and being courteous but unfortunately those values are in decline as well.
Be proud to be what you are and try to put on the best face that you can if you are a smoker, overweight, or base jumper or whatever!
So much can be said on this topic...I dont think it will ever end as long as both sides are intolerant and disrespectful of each other.
Well thats all for now, my occasional cigar smoking, overweight, motorcyling carcass is off to find something good to eat (Good! Not healthy!)2 Channel Rig

Hey, I'm a "live and let live" kinda person (well, except when I'm killing non-smokers with my second-hand smoke..LOL).
I try not to judge reasonable people. ****? that's fine, doesn't bother me. I'm throughly convinced that being **** is not a choice, it is who you are. Overweight, cool, I love food too. I feel ya. Only thing that seperates me from you is metabolism. What I don't like is dogmatic people; people who have no ability to empathize with anyone, because their too caught up in what they want and what they need....you know, "me, me, me" people. Can't stand'em. Anti-smokers fall into this category (NOTE: I said anti smokers, NOT non-smokers). Therefore it gives me great personal pleasure to make these people as uncomfortable as I legally can, because they don't know "me", they just know that they hate me because I smoke.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -

The ocean?
The ocean smells like rotting crustaceans.
I can't stand the smell of those clove ciggs either.
If they literally smelled like crap people might quit.

Just to clarify...
I dont hate smokers...
I hate the smell of smoke - you could smoke odorless cigs alllll day around me as long as I cant smell it and I can still breathe normal...
That smell is just horrid- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Odorless and smokeless cigarettes were attempted several years ago but the concept flopped for whatever reason that remains a mystery to me. I guess when you are to enjoy something such as a smoke...well, you want smoke!
This next tidbit of info is for those that have never smoked... unless you have been seduced by the pleasures of tobacco you have absolutely no concept of what its like to be a smoker and the pleasures and problems of being a smoker. Smoking is a bear of a habit to quit so go easy on smokers when you get the chance! A nicotine fit is worse than hunger in some cases... maybe thats why I packed on 40 pounds when I quit!
I used to put back two packs a day back in 1997 and after suffering thru a bad cold that left me on my butt for close to a week I was finally able to kick the habit that I was trying to quit for close to 5 years prior to that date! The secret was that I convinced myself that I would choose not to smoke (not QUIT) and I feel that this is true because to this day whenever someone lights up around me, I occasionally get the urge to go get a pack of Camels. Thankfully within 30 seconds that pleasant smell turns into stink and the urge is gone. 8 years after "quitting" I still have cravings and to be truthful, thats why I still enjoy the occasional cigar so I can get that tobacco taste without inhaling (Bill Clinton style ) Yes it stinks but its a pleasure that I can enjoy either alone or with friends who do smoke. Because of this I have the opportunity to see both sides of the smoker/non-smoker equation and to repeat what I have said earlier...
courtesy and respect for one another cannot be over emphasized.
Both sides have very valid arguements but one fact remains clear...this is a free country and with that freedom in mind we must remember that freedom comes with a price: CHOICE ! With choice comes the potential of having views contrary to your own thrown back at you!
A non-smoker can either choose to stay or go at a smoking establishment.
A smoker can choose to patronize or boycott an establishment if he or she wishes.
A person listening to offensive music can change the channel/roll up the window/ask the music to played elsewhere...etc.
Where does it stop folks? Banning radishes because it make the co-worker next to you ****? How about scented candles? Those things give me a headache!
I believe that courtesy, tolerance and common sense are what is necessary to for all of us smokers and non-smokers to get along but then again...
Isn't this what we all need to aspire to anyway as HUMAN beings?
If the non-smokers have their way, the smokers will quit or make themselves extinct!
If the smokers have their way everybody would smoke!
Heres wishing the best to both sides! Cheers!2 Channel Rig

Actually it's funny you mentioned farts.
I read somewhere that they (not sure who THEY are?) want to start forcing farmers to recover the methanol that is released by cows. They want farmers to keep the cows inside buildings with systems for removing the methanol from the air before it is released into the world.

Hey we don't want the cows destroying the Ozone.
Flatulants are very dangerous, just ask your wife. -
I'll chime in with what happened to me recently.....
First of all I am a smoker, a considerate one. My wife and I recently had breakfast at IHOP, in the smoking section.
Some woman and her adult daughter sat down 2 tables from us. These women had arrived earlier than we, and were done with their meal, just sitting there drinking coffee and yapping while the line to sit down was all the way out the door.
My wife and I finished our breakfast, so we both lit up. The older woman asked us to put them out. My jaw slammed to my plate! I asked her why she chose to sit in the (very small) smoking section.
Her reply? "it was the first available". I took no joy in telling her to step off, and I don't think I've ever been so offended, so I tactfully told her to get bent, and to leave the smoking section if she didn't like it.
Most smokers are fairly considerate, the un-sympathetic militant anti's can kiss my butts. -

I am an ex-smoker (when I was in the AF and cartons were $2.10), but not an obnoxious get-in-others-faces kind of person. I'm respectful of smokers and their choice, but if my family smells smoke when we walk into a place, we walk out...

L.A. suburb now has toughest anti-smoking law in the U.S.
BLOOMBERG NEWS
The strictest anti-smoking law in the United States went into effect Friday in the Los Angeles suburb of Calabasas, with smoking banned almost anyplace where people gather, indoors or out.
Smokers in Calabasas, a city of 23,000 northwest of Los Angeles, can be charged with a misdemeanor and fined $250 if they light up where nonsmokers congregate, including on sidewalks and around apartment-complex swimming pools.
The new ordinance is more strict than California's state law, which bans smoking in restaurants and most other indoor businesses.
The ordinance, passed unanimously last month by the Calabasas City Council, is the toughest in any U.S. city, according to the American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association.
Some Calabasas residents oppose the ban.
Nance Gatlin said she smokes four or five cigarettes each day on the balcony of her apartment, which is located next to the complex's parking lot. She may face a fine if she continues to smoke there.
Elsewhere Friday, the Colorado House gave final approval to a statewide smoking ban and sent the bill to Gov. Bill Owens, who said he will sign it.
The measure would outlaw smoking in most public buildings except casinos, cigar bars and the smoking lounge at Denver International Airport.
This report includes material from the Associated Press.
