That room you see is the ONLY room done and the only one that will be done for years before we can remodel. The housing prices in Miami are so insane that we pretty much just really bit the bullet on it and did it before it was too late to afford anything.

Honestly, I could see me owning/building a subwoofer on the caliber of the SVS B4...

Something to hit that loud, that low for HT... hmmm

HT is fun... and the only reason its fun is the bass. :)

Although putting similar quality drivers in four enclosures or w/e wouldnt be an equal... Im not sure what you would have to do to make an equal performmer.

The SVS B4 is fairly unique in that its a push pull AND ported AND a large box, making it extremely effecient in more ways than one...

I bet that thing gets loud as crap with modest power...

But I wouldnt mind having something of that caliber in my theater in the future...

Probally could make something of similar quality for around 2 grand... give or take...

Get like three 15" Tumults (3-4" of excursion) - with about 3,000 watts of power (1,000 each) tuned to about 22hz...

    That might could do it.

Dang.....Lucky you. That is a big jump in size, and style (buttons under trap door). Unfortunately I'm pretty certain my wife would notice a growing black box.

Eh, you'd be surprised. The 4802 is only 1/2 inch taller and the same width, same color, same basic display, the big knobs are in the same place. She never really sees it up close anyway. She uses the universal remote from 12 feet away in a room that is usally darkened. If it works and there is nothing obviously different, she would never really notice.

    Wing and Frizz,

Psssst, hey ladies.........................I would like to mention the possibilities of the vacuum tube. :D

RT1 has educated his fine wife so that she now understands 2,000 is a very reasonable purchase for some fine audio gear. RT1 also tends to keep his mouth his shut about things (likes your fairy analogy) and buy's his damsel the pretty stones, shiny crystal and fancy pots she likes.

When pinned in the corner with no escape:

Oh, yes, well dear, see, I sold a piece to buy this one, we are actually ahead on the deal..........besides this was my BD, XMAS, Labor Day, 4th July, present to myself............I got a really great deal it was on closeout, the new model is going to be 1000 more...........

    Enjoy your new sub.

I did do that. I sold my old sub on Ebay and some other things but not $ 2000.00 worth. I think he would also be able to tell if suddenly my 770 was replaced with an Earthquake cinenova too. Damn that green Outlaw light!

Looks like you have to keep the outlaw (bi-amp your other speakers?) and add the Earthquake to the mix.

There must be a closet, shelf with a door, or something that you can throw it in. With an automatic turn on and off via the trigger output on your pre-amp, you will be in business. A beast like that may want its own circut anyway... (and if the earthquake is not available, I can recommend Cinepro as a great substitute)

Ok . I have finally updated my HT pics (click on link) to include the homewrecking Jezebel. As you can see it is a mammoth beast..but..it sounds so purdy :) .
To further elaborate on the difference between this and the PC Plus 20-39, it hits harder, lower and ,oh my God, louder! The bass is tighter and more layered and detailed. I have the gain only up a quarter and the sub set at maybe 1 db hot and it shakes the whole house. I had the gain on the PC plus at about 1/2 and ran it about 3-4 db hot and it did not even begin to approach the power and output of this thing. I am also not as able to 'locate' this sub as far as telling where the bass is coming from as I could somewhat with the PC Plus.

It is a little large and decor is way important for me but it is so awesome and I know it can move with me wherever I go if I ever get a house with a larger HT room so there you go.

I guess it's pretty obvious why the fairies couldn't work their sneaky magic on this one. ;)
