Yeah, but who's the genius that started it;) :D .

But seriously, this is fun and educational at the same time, I still say it should be a sticky.

It was a Sharp with 1 laser and 4x oversampling, really hi-tech:rolleyes: . That sumbitch was pricey, too. Hell it worked fine for the time. Haven't purchased a cassette since.:)

some of the early ones were built like tanks, with sound that stands up today...an ex gf had a kyocera from 83. that was an impressive player..they show up on the bay frome time to time

Kinda like the early VCRs, my parents bought our first VCR in 77, it was an RCA top loader and cost $1300. It was still working in 95, before they sold it to someone for $50.

I wonder why they released "Abbey Road" before "Let It Be"?
That just doesn't make any sense, does it?

They were fighting real bad at the time of the recording sessions of LIB and it never got totally completed. I think was the time that Ringo actually walked out on them at one point, and they were happy to get him back.

Later on, Apple brought in Phil spector I believe it was to "polish" up the master tapes and release it, but they had split by then.

HEY, WHOEVER'S IN CHARGE AROUND HERE,

Would you please make this thread a sticky? This is educational for everyone and especially the younger members.

BTW, where's Bliss? Haven't seen him for a few days now.

And Phil totally screwed up Let It Be with his overdubs (ie: "The Long And Winding Road"). Let Be - Naked took out Phil's handywork. Some say it is not as good since it took out some of the conversation as well. I like it better.

Is Phil's trial over or even started, yet?

I haven't heard much of the details about the case. Has anyone here? Does it sound like he's going down for murder or a lesser charge?

Omigod! Omigod! I know this! I know this!

    It's Dick Dale, yo.

Now what the hell was Elvis's only commercial ever, eh?

This thread is confusing me.

Spector is claiming that she killed herself! It seems unlikely as he has a history of pointing guns at women, but one only needs to know that he is wealthy and the rich have a history of getting away with murder. The trial should be interesting.

I'll take a wild guess on this one. Elvis once appeared on a Frank Sinatra special that was sponsored by Timex. It was a popular stunt at the time to strap a Timex watch to an out board boat motor propeller in a tank of water and spin it up real fast and then show that the watch still worked. Anyway I'm guessing he did a commercial for Timex.

The commercial for the Blue Hawaii broadcast?

I also vaguely seem to remember a commercial for the Madison Square Garden Live Albim, but I was only like 5 to 7 years old or so at that time.

Name the song that was originally supposed to be titled "In the Garden Of Eden", but was changed, because of the fear of negative feedback from the holy rollers and critics?
